Qualifications: Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED certificate Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures Ability to operate cleaning equipment and properly handle cleaning supplies Ability to lift heavy equipment Strong understanding of cleanliness, hygiene and safety standards applicable to educational institutions Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify issues, analyze data, and implement solutions Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders in a positive and efficient manner Proficiency in using computer applications and software for documentation and reporting Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively. Experience: Previous experience in quality assurance, facility management preferred, or 2 years custodial services. Major Responsibilities and Duties: 1. Develop and implement comprehensive quality assurance protocols and procedures to ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards are consistently met. 2. Accepts a change of assignment on a temporary or permanent basis at the request of the custodial services coordinator or supervisor. 3. Conduct regular inspections of school facilities including classrooms, corridors, and outside areas. 4. Assess cleanliness levels and identify areas of improvement. 5. Demonstrates ability to work with others in a positive, productive manner. 6. Inspects and maintains fire extinguishers in the buildings on a monthly basis. 7. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, school policies, and industry standards related to custodial services. 8. Maintain detailed records of inspection corrective actions taken, and ongoing compliance efforts. 9. Generate reports and provide regular updates to management on quality assurance activities and performance metrics. 10. Provide training and guidance to custodial staff on quality assurance protocols, best practices, and compliance requirements. 11. Offer ongoing support and reinforcement to ensure adherence to standards. 12. Identify root causes of quality issues and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement corrective and preventative actions. 13. Address any concerns of complaints related to cleanliness and hygiene promptly and effectively. 14. Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing data, soliciting feedback, and implementing process enhancements to optimize efficiency and effectiveness. 15. Foster effective communication and collaboration with custodial staff, school administrators, faculty and other stakeholders to promote a culture of quality and accountability. 16. Perform other duties as assigned. 17. Requires flexibility in working hours to accommodate inspections or trainings during non-standard hours or weekends, especially during special events or emergencies. Supervisory Responsibilities: Lead custodians Custodians Equipment Used: Buffer, wet and dry vacuums, mops, brooms, and any other equipment associated with custodial trade. Working Conditions: Tobacco Free Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress. People intensive. Frequent interruptions. Continuous standing, stooping, walking, climbing stairs / ladders, bending, pushing and pulling, grasping, squeezing, twisting, reaching (including overhead), must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds. Working indoors, outdoors, in extreme temperatures including hot and cold temperature swings, inclement weather, works with chemicals, exposure to dust, and slippery or uneven walking surfaces. Will work within the school premises, conducting inspections and collaborating with custodial staff and other stakeholders.
