Duration: 12+ months of contract and possibility of extension

Shift: Standard (8:00 AM 5:00 PM / 9-hour days, every other Friday off)

Job Description
We are looking for a Mechanical Test Engineer with strong analytical skills and experience in regulated industries. The ideal candidate will have a mechanical engineering background, though electrical candidates with strong mechanical testing experience may also be considered.

Duties

  • Works within the Test & Reliability team and/or R&D project teams supporting molecular medical device development.
  • Performs testing and evaluation of electromechanical medical devices to determine product limits and performance improvements.
  • Executes engineering activities related to test and reliability engineering across product lifecycle stages.
  • Performs root cause analysis on failures identified during testing activities.
  • Participates in and conducts engineering design reviews, investigations, and technical assessments.
  • Develops and executes environmental, reliability, and system-level testing including:
  • Temperature, humidity, and altitude testing
  • Shock and vibration testing
  • Reliability and lifecycle testing
  • Shipping simulation testing
  • Dust and water ingress testing
  • Electrical, EMC, and EMI testing
  • Designs and develop test fixtures to support electromechanical system validation.
  • Creates, maintains, and executes test protocols and test plans using Helix ALM.
  • Supports both Design Verification Testing (DVT) and Design Validation Testing (DVP).
  • Works collaboratively with cross-functional engineering teams and provides technical input under moderate supervision.
  • Ensures all work comply with company Quality System, SOPs, and WIDs.
  • Performs additional engineering tasks as assigned.

Skills

  • Strong experience in test and reliability engineering for electromechanical systems.
  • Expertise in environmental and system-level product testing methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with root cause analysis and failure investigation.
  • Knowledge of EMC/EMI, shock, vibration, and environmental stress testing.
  • Ability to design test fixtures and support hardware validation activities.
  • Proficiency in developing test plans, protocols, and documentation (Helix ALM preferred).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to team goals.

Education

  • Bachelor''s degree in Engineering or equivalent required.
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering or testing field preferred.
