General Job Summary:Compliance Analyst supports the second line of defense by executing monitoring and testing activities across mortgage originations, servicing, and other consumer compliance areas. Analysts apply structured procedures and test scripts to assess adherence to regulatory requirements, investor guidelines, and internal controls. Depending on level (I, II, III), the Analyst may also assist in the development of new testing procedures, lead workstreams, or design test methodologies from time to time. The role operates with implied compliance authority to identify, document, and escalate findings in accordance with established protocols and contributes to the continuous improvement of the bank's compliance management system. In addition, the Compliance Analyst will provide support for other activities throughout the Compliance Department as needed, ensuring flexible assistance in meeting departmental goals and responding to emerging priorities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (75%)
Perform structured testing of mortgage originations and servicing activities using approved scripts with a high degree of accuracy, thoroughness, and independence in accordance with investor and regulatory requirementsExecute prefunding and post-closing loan reviews for agency and portfolio products corresponding with investor expectations in recalculations of income, assets, credit, and collateralValidate re-verification documentation and ensure consistency with loan approval dataReconcile closing disclosures to fee tolerance thresholds and cure requirementsTest servicing readiness including escrow setup, borrower communications, and transfer protocolsValidate compliance with consumer protection laws including TRID, ECOA, HMDA, RESPA, FCRA, and UDAAPApply defect taxonomy to findings, assigning severity ratings and root cause codes per playbookDocument findings from assigned reviews in comprehensive written reports that describe the issue, its potential impact, and recommended corrective actions; follow up with management to determine the status of remediationMaintain detailed work papers with factual support, severity rationale, and linkage to applicable requirementsMaintain evidence logs showing resolution or escalation of flagged itemsTrack issues and exceptions in an issue log, escalating overdue items per protocolDocument and submit QC reports with corrective actions and due dates, maintaining cycle time targetsSupport monthly reporting with metrics, trend analysis, and summaries for management reviewCoordinate with business units including Lending Operations, Retail Lending, and Servicing to obtain documentation and clarify findingsPerform other compliance reviews and administrative tasks (e.g., administrative QC checks) as requiredProvide assistance to external auditors and bank examiners as neededComplete all required training to maintain awareness of regulatory changes and internal proceduresConduct special projects as assignedOther Functions: (25%)Maintain understanding of the bank's products, services, geographic locations, relevant investor requirements, and the potential risks associated with those activitiesAssist with coordination of federal and/or state regulatory agency examiners during examinationsFurnishing examiners and GSE investors with requested informationPerform other duties, as assigned
Minimum Job Requirements:Education: BS/BA in Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in banking, mortgage operations, or compliance preferredSpecific Skills:
Demonstrate foundational knowledge of consumer compliance laws and mortgage lending practicesUnderstand bank policies and procedures relevant to lending and servicingApply strong attention to detail and follow structured procedures with consistencyExhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skillsDefine problems and propose practical solutionsWork independently with limited direction from supervisorManage time effectively and stay organized across multiple tasksFunction efficiently in a multi-task environmentCommunicate clearly and professionally in both verbal and written formatsUse Microsoft Excel, Word, and SharePoint proficiently
