POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing all product and supplier quality-related activities. This includes the development and implementation of in-house quality procedures, standards, and specifications, as well as the establishment of a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) for WAI SC. The Quality Manager will also lead efforts to achieve ISO certification and ensure ongoing compliance with national and international standards. The role requires direct interaction with cross-functional teams and external customers, providing critical quality support and technical expertise.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Record, analyze, and distribute statistical quality data, such as warranty rates on products and suppliers.
  • Develop analytical tools to monitor quality performance across the business.
  • Analyze periodic reports to identify trends and potential issues.
  • Create reports at various levels to present current quality status.
  • Provide interdepartmental and intercompany technical support.
  • Conduct 8D, 5 Why, Pareto Analysis for internal and external defects.
  • Prepare and provide PPAP documentation for customer product validation.
  • Ensure ISO certification requirements are established, implemented, and maintained.
  • Communicate with customers regarding product quality and provide detailed test results.
  • Lead quality incident investigations and failure mode analysis.
  • Determine product disposition for validated nonconformance, including cost and risk analysis.
  • Conduct supplier communication for cost recovery.
  • Evaluate and approve corrective actions and preventive actions.
  • Specify quality requirements for raw materials with suppliers.
  • Support suppliers in manufacturing process selection and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with national and international product standards.
  • Provide quality and environmental compliance certificates.
  • Support product validation by defining critical characteristics, testing methods, and interpreting results.
  • Approve or reject components, drawings, or test results.
  • Provide customer-facing reports and address technical concerns.
  • Select, train, coach, counsel, and discipline associates in coordination with Human Resources.
  • Foster a collaborative and communicative team environment.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, & Skills required)

Education: Postgraduate qualification in Engineering or a related technical field required.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in a quality-focused role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in remanufacturing is required.

Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Innovative thinker with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Project management and coordination proficiency.

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel - advanced level, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong communication skills - both verbal and written.
  • Able to write detailed reports and correspondence.
  • Experienced in designing workflows and implementing process improvements.
  • Skilled in root cause analysis tools (8D, 5 Why, Pareto).
  • Knowledge of test systems and calibration methods.
  • ISO certification experience and deep knowledge of QMS principles.
