The Solar QA Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the Quality Assurance program for utility-scale solar EPC projects. This role ensures that all engineering, procurement, and construction activities meet contractual, regulatory, and industry standards, while driving a culture of quality across project teams and subcontractors. The QA Manager will work closely with project management, engineering, field construction, and procurement teams to ensure first-time quality and compliance from project kickoff through final turnover. Key Responsibilities Quality Program Leadership Develop and implement project-specific Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs) in alignment with corporate QA/QC standards, client requirements, and applicable codes. Lead the planning and execution of quality audits, surveillance, and inspections across engineering, procurement, and construction phases. Ensure QA procedures are incorporated into EPC workflows, including design reviews, material inspections, and construction activities. Engineering & Procurement Interface Collaborate with engineering teams to verify designs meet contractual and code requirements before release for construction. Work with procurement to ensure vendor qualification, material compliance, and documentation meet project quality standards. Review and approve supplier quality plans, manufacturing inspection/test reports, and material certifications. Construction Quality Oversight Monitor field quality performance to ensure construction meets design specifications, applicable codes, and safety standards. Coordinate with subcontractor QA representatives to ensure consistent inspection and reporting practices. Track and resolve non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective action requests (CARs), and quality-related RFIs. Compliance & Documentation Maintain accurate and complete quality records for turnover, including inspection reports, test results, and certifications. Ensure compliance with NEC, IEC, ASTM, UL, local jurisdiction requirements, and contractual specifications. Manage quality documentation for project closeout packages and warranty support. Continuous Improvement Identify trends and recurring issues, and lead initiatives to improve quality processes and reduce rework. Provide training and mentorship to project teams on quality procedures, inspection techniques, and documentation requirements. Drive a Quality First culture within the EPC team and among subcontractors.
