Position Summary
Implementation and support of quality control efforts to ensure that requirements for processing conform to quality standards. Maintain quality assurance standards, procedures, and controls.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct routine sampling and inspection of ingredients, finished products and packaging
Assist Quality & Food Safety Manager with the initiation and follow-up of corrective and interim action plans related to non-compliance issues
Segregate and hold non-compliance finished products and ingredients according to Julio's procedures.
Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, and Food Safety Programs
Follow critical control point procedures per our HACCP Program
Pre-Op documentation (ATP swab test)
Calibrate laboratory equipment (pH meter, thermometers) as needed
Daily Scale Calibration check
Conduct metal detector and nitrogen gas check's
Conduct operational sanitation checks (ATP swab test)
Ensure products are made according to finished product specification forms.
Perform routine net weight checks
Other duties as assigned
Notify management immediately whenever any food safety and/or quality risk is observed
Must be able to work 5:30AM to 2:00PM or 2:00PM to 10:30PM
Qualifications
NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED - WILL TRAIN
Excellent communication skills (including listening, writing, speaking) required.
Strong organizational skills required
Ability to perform math (add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions, percentages)
Ability to conduct on-going interpersonal interactions, analyze and solve problems
Ability to effectively plan, organize, and prioritize work
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software and the ability to navigate and research the Internet.
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred English is required
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Working Conditions
Manufacturing environment in a food manufacturing facility.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift and move up to a max of 25 pounds
Employee will be subject to dust, noise, and odor
The physical activity of this position includes, but is not limited to routine walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, sitting, and visual activity
Schedule: 8 Hour Shift (morning or evening) Weekends required Overtime required
