Job Title: Quality Control Analyst
Job Description
The PCR Analyst will perform routine testing support and support projects. This involves qPCR testing and ensuring timely processing of samples. The role involves in-process testing and finished product testing. The analyst will be trained on validation tasks, including equipment and lab space validation, software programming, and method drafting.
Responsibilities
- Perform qPCR testing with a 7-hour turnaround time.
- Conduct in-process and finished product testing.
- Extract RNA from tissue samples.
- Monitor contaminants and perform environmental monitoring.
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments.
- Manage inventory and prepare reagents.
- Validate centrifuges, spectrophotometers, and liquid handler robots.
- Draft methods and validate lab spaces.
- Run speciation assays to identify and quantify species.
Essential Skills
- Experience with PCR, QC, and method development.
- Understanding of GMP, biology, and molecular biology.
- Proficient in pharmaceutical and environmental monitoring.
- Familiarity with FDA regulations and microbiology.
- Ability to conduct assays and manage laboratory operations.
- Bachelor's degree or above in Microbiology or related discipline preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with a Thermo Cycler and qPCR software is ideal.
- Experience in a molecular pharmaceutical or GMP setting preferred.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
- 2+ years of experience in a PCR/Micro Lab preferred.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $43.26/hr.
