DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this role, you will perform a variety of technical responsibilities related to the inspection of materials and workmanship for bridge projects within Engineering District 10-0, ensuring compliance with established construction codes, plans, standards, and specifications. Your duties will include conducting structural inspections and gathering bridge inventory data in line with departmental policies and procedures to maintain a safe transportation system. Additionally, you will assist a bridge inspection team leader by executing various technical tasks associated with the inspection of bridges and other structures, adhering to the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS). Work Schedule and Additional Information: + Full-time employment + Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. + Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: + One year as an Engineering Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or + Two years as a Transportation Technician or Construction Cost Technician 1 (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job titles, as determined by the Office of Administration);or + Three years of experience in highway or bridge surveying, design, construction, or inspection work;or + Three years of experience in quality control of materials or building or construction industry experience, which includes reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, or schematics;or + One year of construction inspection experience, and an associate's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology;or + An equivalent combination of experience and training.
