Northeast Paving is proud to be a part of this area's history and development, and a partner in Maine's future. *General Description* *Northeast Paving* is seeking a *Quality Control Technician* for our location based in *Presque Isle, ME*. Previous experience in the paving industry, asphalt and material testing skills are preferred, though training will be provided for the right candidate. This is a great opportunity to learn and grow in the road construction industry. Quality Control plays an integral part in creating and producing a successful paving project. Quality Control Field Technicians are responsible for tasks on the jobsite and in the lab, as needed. This position often requires working long hours in a variety of weather conditions. Tasks will involve both mental problem solving and physical activity. Please, see key duties below for detailed descriptions of common tasks. Positions at Northeast Paving entail a commitment to safety. It is important for members of the Northeast Paving team to be actively involved in their own safety, while being considerate of fellow employees. This is a seasonal position with full time hours and overtime pay for hourly employees. *Key Duties* * Follow safety protocols * Laboratory testing to ensure conformance standards * Quality control of products at the point of production, shipping and arrival on the jobsite * Test methods include but not limited to DOT regulations. * Communicate and document results of tasks to the appropriate people * Perform jobsite inspection, customer service and troubleshooting as needed * Prepare QC reports * Formulating specific recommendations to resolve or correct quality issues * Visually inspecting stockpiles, materials sources, plant and truck loads * Maintain accurate, timely records of test data, product quality, and defective materials * Perform various tests in an orderly, efficient, and accurate manner * Perform incidental work items and duties included within other crafts *Qualification Requirements* * High school diploma or equivalent * Must be 21 years or older * Class C driving license, in good standing * Ability to show up to work consistently and on time * Eager to learn, ask questions, and adapt on a regular basis * Ability to make decisions in high intensity situations * Good math skills * Basic computer skills, Excel, Word, and Outlook * Good verbal and written communication skills * Ability to self-motivate and be perseverant * Great attention to detail *Physical Demands* The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by a Quality Control Technician to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. * Constant physical effort, including standing, is required during a regular work shift of at least eight hours per day.
