This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, at Spirit's Defense Business Unit ("Spirit Defense"). Spirit Defense is an independent supplier to the defense and space marketplace. Through innovative engineering and rapid prototyping excellence, Spirit Defense provides the capabilities, technologies and support customers need to succeed in their missions.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Adherence: Monitor, interpret, and implement compliance with federal regulations such as FAR and DFARS
  • Customer Adherence: Monitor, interpret, and implement compliance with customer subcontracting requirements (Contract flow-downs)
  • Audit Support: Serve as the primary supply chain liaison during government or internal audits (e.g., DCMA and CPSR reviews); Drive Root Cause Corrective Action plans to completion; Review procurement files for completeness, accuracy, and compliance
  • Supplier Management: Screen and assess supplier documentation to enforce compliance with regulatory standards and identify potential supply chain restrictions (e.g., FASCSA orders)
  • System & Data Maintenance: Create and update applicable SCM Business Writings, training, and forms; Track and report KPIs regarding compliance to leadership, Complete government reporting activity such as Government Property and Small Business Planning
  • Cross-Functional Engagement: Work and interface with diverse levels of Internal/External Customers & Government Personnel; Develop and deliver training on government contracting and compliance topics
  • Ensure Spirit Defense subcontracting operations adhere to federal regulations, interpret and communicate customer subcontracting requirements, and align internal Supply Chain processes and procedures to ensure compliance
  • Minimize risk by auditing procurement activities and internal processes, support government audits such as CPSRs, and ensure strict adherence to United States Government laws
  • Limited travel may be required

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at our Wichita, KS, location

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance and Special Program Access (for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 6-9+ years of related experience
  • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance and Special Program Access
  • Knowledge of FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation), DFARS (Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement), and/or Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
  • Skilled in making presentations (verbal and/or written) to key stakeholders and with all levels of the organization
  • Experience using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; strong computer skills
  • Strong supply chain background
  • Experience in acquisitions and/or contracting
  • Auditing and reviewing purchasing activities
  • Detail oriented

Summary Pay Range: $71,750.00 - $110,000.00

Security Clearance:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
