What We Need

We are looking for Staff Reliability Engineer to join our Hardware Engineering team within our Robotics Engineering organization. Your job will be to lead reliability engineering activities across new and existing robotic platforms, ensuring products meet performance, durability, and lifecycle expectations throughout development and production.

What We Do

The Hardware Engineering team is part of the Robotics Engineering organization, which is responsible for developing and delivering Symbotic's industry-leading automation and robotics solutions. The team drives the design, validation, and continuous improvement of robotic systems that power high-performance warehouse automation at scale.

What You'll Do

  • Lead reliability engineering activities for robotic products from concept development through production launch and sustainment.

  • Drive Design for Reliability (DfR) practices including reliability requirements development, risk assessments, and reliability modeling.

  • Perform reliability analyses such as FMEA/FMECA, fault tree analysis, Weibull analysis, and physics of failure assessments.

  • Develop and execute reliability test plans including environmental testing, accelerated life testing, HALT, and ALT programs.

  • Analyze test and field data to identify failure modes, conduct root cause investigations, and implement corrective actions.

  • Partner closely with mechanical, electrical, firmware, software, manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams to improve product reliability and reduce risk.

  • Provide technical guidance during design reviews and support reliability initiatives through production ramp and field deployment.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 8 years of reliability engineering experience supporting complex electromechanical products or robotic systems.

  • Experience applying Design for Reliability methodologies throughout the product development lifecycle.

  • Strong knowledge of reliability engineering tools and methods including FMEA, Weibull analysis, fault tree analysis, and reliability prediction modeling.

  • Experience planning and executing reliability testing, accelerated life testing, and environmental validation programs.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause investigation skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with experience working across multidisciplinary engineering organizations.

Our environment

  • Up to 10% of travel may be required . Employees must have a valid drivers license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.

  • The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.

The base range for this position in the posted location is $125,000.00 - $171,600.00 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, PTO and/or other benefits.
