CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Principal Water Supply Engineer to join our Water Team in Indianapolis, IN . In this senior leadership role, youll help deliver important drinking water projects from planning and design through construction and start-up. Youll work on projects involving water treatment facilities, distribution systems, storage facilities, and source supply infrastructure that support public health and long-term community growth.

• Lead drinking water infrastructure projects from initial planning through construction and completion
• Oversee engineering studies, designs, reports, and technical documentation
• Provide guidance on water treatment, storage, and distribution system improvements
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to keep projects moving forward
• Mentor junior staff and support technical quality across projects
• Evaluate existing water systems and recommend practical, sustainable solutions
• Prepare reports and presentations for clients, regulatory agencies, and internal leadership
• Support proposals and help communicate technical concepts in a clear, client-friendly manner

• Bachelors degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required; Masters degree preferred
• Minimum of 15 years of engineering experience required, preferably related to drinking water systems
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• Strong understanding of water treatment and distribution infrastructure
• Experience with engineering and modeling software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Plant3D, Civil 3D, or WaterCAD
• Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
• Familiarity with engineering standards, QA/QC practices, and regulatory requirements

• Work on projects that directly support public health and community infrastructure
• Help modernize and improve drinking water systems across the region
• Collaborate with experienced engineers and industry professionals

$150,000 - $170,000

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
