Position Summary:
The Quality Inspector is responsible for reducing the risk and exposure by preventing the shipment of poor-quality products to customers. This position inspects incoming purchased parts, raw material, returned goods, pre-machined and finished machined parts, provides assurance of inspection documentation, witnesses and performs inspections and testing as required and assists in the development, maintenance and assurance of the Quality functions.
Principle Duties (includes, but is not limited to):
- Perform incoming inspections of purchased parts
- Perform receipt transactions, inspections, tests, and reviews vendor documentation related to receiving of inventoried material
- Perform and document detailed formal inspections
- Perform and document first article inspections as required
- Perform receiving, in process and final inspection of returned goods related transactions as required
- Maintain inspection documentation as required, from receiving to final testing and filing
- Audit processes to verify compliance with documents, policy and procedure
- Perform contract review on special projects and coordinate outside third party inspections as required
- Assist in supplying special documentation/data packages, as needed
- Work on root cause identification and corrective actions of quality issues
Essential Qualifications / Experience:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Problem Solver
- Basic statistical skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong background in ISO 9001 or related quality standards.
- Extensive knowledge of machining, fabrication, and assembly operations.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
- Two-year technical degree.
- B.S. in engineering or related degree.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a quality systems control position in a manufacturing environment, while driving significant improvements in quality metrics.
- Use of statistical software (i.e., Minitab).
