Summary

The Supplier Quality Manager partners with Supply Chain Management to ensure supplier processes are in line with the design intent of PowerSecure and verify suppliers' systems to ensure they are compliant with PowerSecure's requirements. This includes on-going supply chain company verification and risk analysis.

Essential Functions

Supplier Quality Manager will work closely with purchasing and engineering teams to ensure processes are in place to minimize risk and meet product conformance. Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements.

Supplier Quality

  • Lead PowerSecure' s Supplier Quality Management program, ensuring consistent quality of materials, components, and assemblies.
  • Manages supplier qualification process, including reviewing and assessing suppliers' qualification documents, and performs on-site audits-assessing suppliers' capabilities and capacity.
  • Drive supplier quality performance improvement based on defined KPIs.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (8D, 5-Why, FMEA) for supplier related nonconformances
  • Develop and maintain supplier quality documentation, including PPAPS, inspections plans, control plans and certifications.
  • Lead new supplier introduction, qualification, technical evaluations, and approval processes.
  • Evaluates and makes recommendations on critical supplier selections, drives supplier continuous improvement processes and

approves of supplier corrective actions.

  • Perform risk analysis to define incoming inspection requirements.
  • Support the Implementation of quality system changes and enhancements to drive manufacturing efficiencies, meet shipment commitments, and ensure internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Drive "Right the First Time" mentality within the supply base.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Supply Chain on new supplier onboarding
  • Participate in internal quality system audits.
  • Represent and encourage a continuous improvement culture within the Supply Chain.

People Leadership

  • Coach, mentor and develop a strong team capable of supporting all aspects of production and creating world-class production capabilities.
  • Establishes annual goals and objectives (including stretch targets) in coordination with corporate objectives and manages performance to ensure attainment.
  • Effective team player, who can work in varying team roles and actively collaborate with multiple departments.
  • Promote and enable development of staff, manage, and document performance, and implement responsive actions.

Cost out & Efficiency Improvements:

  • Drive (measurable) reduction in supplier rejection, reduction of rework.
  • Drive in quality improvements to reduce the need for incoming inspection and in process verification of purchased products.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Engineering required.
  • 7+ years of Experience in supplier quality, quality engineering, or manufacturing quality leadership within an industrial or fabrication environment
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans and auditing practices
  • ASQ certification preferred.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Practical, hands-on experience in supply chain development, qualifying and developing suppliers.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical assembly drawings, Weld and Coating symbols, work instructions, and written directions.
  • Experience with manufacturing ERP systems (SAP or IFS preferred)
  • Experience in a Leadership role.
  • Strategic thinker with confidence and speed in execution.

  • High proficiency in computer technology and systems operations, with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Great technical knowledge in Electronics, Manufacturing, Maintenance and Logistic
  • Capable to perform professional audits and reports
  • Able to work efficiently in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple, complex projects and changing priorities and make sound decisions under pressure in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to execute initiatives and deliver promised results. Ability to engage and influence across all levels.
  • Strong leadership skills: Team development, ability to influence, assessment of others, feedback/coaching, delegation, motivating others, performance management, communicating expectations.

Physical Demands

  • Moderate travel will be required.
  • Local travel between sites DI-Durham and DI-Randleman will be required.
  • Must be able to work in an office environment with a lot of sitting and tolerate a full day of computer screen viewing.

Work Environment

  • Professional office environment. Some walking will be required to monitor products on the shop floor.
