The In-process Quality Inspector maintains quality assurance systems, procedures, and processes to ensure all products and materials meet company and customer standards, specifications, and quality expectations within the Value Stream level. The in-process inspector will also aid in the development and implementation of the RMB “Quality At The Source” (QATS) processes. This position will hold final product disposition authority and certification package consolidation for final product release where QATS processes have been implemented. The employee has the authority and responsibility to reject and prevent discrepant parts from being moved to next manufacturing operation, and to place product on hold for management review before being shipped to customer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position includes the following essential functions but is not limited to them. Additional duties may be assigned:
- Excellent understanding and practice for inspection, testing of materials and product qualities such as dimensional, mechanical, visual, and performance characteristics
- Assist in troubleshooting both in process and field returns for root cause of defect
- Performs necessary calculations to determine angles, tolerances, dimensions, and measurements as defined by part engineering.
- May assist in preparing parts for customer source inspectors by coordinating assembly of required documentation, which may include inspection reports, drawings, bills of materials, process specifications, purchase orders, material certifications, and shipping paperwork. Assists source inspector as required. Customer, Designated Quality Representative (DQR) certification is preferred.
- Identifies and communicates issues raised, offering recommended solutions relevant to business and risk for any dimensional, process, or quality discrepancies discovered during the inspection process
- Performs in-process inspections of subcomponents and assemblies, and documents results of those and other inspections as required.
- Aids in the development of the Quality At The Source (QATS) processes and forms in order to allow for inspection activities to occur real-time and in the applicable Value Stream.
- Ensures product is moving continuously through the production process.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Ability to use standard precision inspections tools such as calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, height stands, etc.
- Must maintain the confidentiality of all projects, customers, and RMB
- Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings.
- In-depth knowledge of industry standards
- Exceptional attention to details
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Requires a flexible and cooperative attitude, which includes when asked to perform other duties or tasks that are not listed within this job description but within the scope of this position
