JOB SUMMARY

Process Quality Technician is responsible for providing quality and training support to equipment operators and manufacturing department personnel. Position is an on the floor active involvement work detail with responsibility for assuring quality standards are followed and customer expectations are achieved through the daily production workflow. This position is to assure compliance to manufacturing instructions, completion of quality procedures by operations and is to conduct audit assessments of trained practicals of task by in job persons signed off by a trainer. This position reports to the manufacturing Production Manager of the assigned area(s)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow and be a champion for all Tekni-Plex safety initiatives and requirements. Participate in safety observations and monitor assigned areas for safety concerns during job duties.
  • Review and understand standard work policy, JBS instructions, and quality procedure related to operations interaction with product during manufacturing
  • Conduct weekly follow up with manager on status of training for new to job employees and progression to understanding of expected performance standards.
  • Be and on the floor assessor of product manufacturing and work with operators to address concerns with product condition or workmanship
  • Responsible for conducting multiple daily route visits to machines and finished goods staging at banding line to view material, packing, ticketing and paperwork.
  • Drive manufacturing processes in order to optimize production efficiency, quality and profitability
  • Work with Process Engineer to create, maintain and implement effective process conditions and operating procedures
  • Participate in commissioning new and upgrading existing manufacturing equipment
  • Participate in problem solving and RCCA activities for internal improvement and customer complaint investigation as directed by manager.
  • Write ideas and information concisely and effectively; organize information logically; use of appropriate grammar. Ability to use excel type program for data presentation
  • Written and Verbal communication with internal and corporate team members
  • Possess analytical and problem solving skills and be detailed oriented
  • Proficient in basic computer software and operation
  • Develop cooperative working relationship with peers, associates and management. Show awareness of, and consideration for, the opinions and ideas of others
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum: 2 year degree in technical or quality field; ASQ certification or similar Quality Experience or 5 years related experience in flexible packaging manufacturing with emphasis on operations auditing or machine process and operation.

SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to think strategically, exercise independent judgment and problem solve; ability to work cohesively with multi-functional development and process teams. Ability to train employees and guide in a positive and progressive manner

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees and customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts as applied to daily responsibility and task. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
