What You Will Do
Inspects complex manufactured, purchased and/or fabricated parts for conformance to quality requirements stated on drawings, quality procedures or purchase orders. Serves as the SME for inspection processes and equipment functions within specified area.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Performs visual, dimensional, electrical, functional, and optical inspection per documentation with minimal supervision.
- Works from engineering drawings, customer specifications, quality assurance standards, test procedures, and qualified verbal instructions to determine acceptance of product.
- Presents hardware for internal source inspection, as required.
- Participates in continuous improvement teams.
- May assist in process or Aerospace audits such as AS9100.
- Verifies quality in accordance with statistical process and other control procedures.
- Uses basic-to-complex inspection measurement equipment and performs complex set-ups to check dimensions and geometric tolerancing.
- This role will include training on the ESS (environmental stress screening) Chamber and functional testing
- Proficiently uses computer to document quality records, First Article Inspection Reports and job sustaining
- Makes drawing, test procedure or process improvement recommendations to Leadership in effort to improve design and/or manufacturability of product.
- Responsible for cross training lower-level Inspectors and is a mentor for all other Inspectors.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two-year technical degree, Certified Quality Auditor or Certified Mechanical Inspector (CMI)
- Requires 3+ years inspection experience in Aerospace manufacturing.
Skills and Abilities
- In depth knowledge and the ability to apply advanced shop mathematics, blueprint reading, geometric tolerancing and SPC.
- Ability to proficiently set-up and use all inspection measurement equipment, basic to complex.
- Skilled with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Teams, and Excel software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-shift tie-ins
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently to meet goals.
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting up to 50-lbs may be required.
- Periodic standing, sitting, and walking.
Work Environment:
- This position is for First Shift (6:00am - 2:30pm), Monday through Friday.
- The ambient noise level is low, but hearing protection is provided, upon request.
- This job operates in a professional manufacturing environment.
Salary Range
Please note the typical hiring range is $25.13 - $34.00 hourly. Job offers within the range are based on significant job qualifications and pay equity.
