Quality Manager - ISO-9001 - $25.00 Per Hour

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Capstan is seeking a dedicated Quality Manager for our metal parts manufacturing facility in California. The quality manager is the driver of quality improvements and audits and maintains our quality systems. The quality manager is the primary customer contact for quality-related issues.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following is a description of the duties and responsibilities of the Quality Manager with expected time allocation:
Drives Quality Improvements (50%)
A. Personally completes at least one LPA per week.
B. Maintains LPA log and encourages frequent audits.
C. Completes system quality audits per IATF annually at minimum. Approx 1 per month.
D. Identifies and implements improvement opportunities throughout facility.
E. Actively participates in fixing problems identified from daily fast response meeting.
F. Assists teams with root cause and corrective actions for quality related improvements.
G. Manages reverse FMEA audit system

Customer Contact for Quality Related issues (10%)
H. Responds to all customer complaints in a timely manner. Issues RMAs and POs.,
I. Maintains and manages customer complaint log
J. Assists teams with root cause and corrective actions
K. Reviews changes to customer specific quality manuals to ensure compliance
L. Responds to any internal quality audits for customers.

Maintains, manages and audits quality systems (25%)
A. IATF Rep / Owner of quality system
B. Ensures the company is in compliance to internal quality systems and IATF requirements.
C. Prepares for and hosts all third-party audits (ie. IATF, customer audits, etc)
D. Ensures Employees are trained to the quality system

Contact with outside vendors for Quality related issues (5%)
E. Maintains approved vendor list. Handles outside vendors issues. Issues SCARs.
F. Maintains Outside vendor SCAR log.
G. Audits outside vendors to ensure compliance with quality systems
H. Maintains Supplier Evaluation process and approval process

Management (5%)
A. Responsible for the management oversight of the Calibration system.
B. Assigns out daily work to quality engineer and quality tech and CMM Lab.
C. Other duties and projects as assigned by President
D. Attends quarterly management review meetings and accepts action items.

New Product On Boarding (5%)
A. Attends APQP and WAR meetings to ensure quality expectations will be met

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE:
The following is a brief description of the technical skills and experience required:
A. Ability to read and write English.
B. Ability to use a micrometer, caliper, and read blue prints.
C. Ability to use MS excel, word, outlook, explorer.
D. Ability to perform or learn to perform lead auditor responsibilities.
E. Organized and detail oriented.
F. Strong customer service skills
G. Ability to use a CMM is preferred, Willing to be trained is a MUST.
