Quality Inspector Job Description As a Quality Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all materials meet the company's quality standards. You will be responsible for double-checking paperwork and measuring materials to ensure accuracy. This position requires working rotating 12-hour shifts, starting with a 2-week training period from 6 AM to 4 PM, Monday to Thursday. Afterwards, you will be assigned either a day shift from 6 AM to 6 PM or a night shift from 6 PM to 6 AM. Responsibilities Maintain a clean and orderly work area/warehouse. Ensure a safe working environment by following all company safety policies and procedures, and report any unsafe conditions and incidents. Ensure materials meet the company's quality standards. Operate the extrusion line, including machine set-up, handling films and resins, color concentrates and additives, adjusting production speeds, and executing start and stop functions. Perform changeovers, manage down times, and conduct die and screw tear down, along with screen pack management. Use line-specific tools and adhere to proper lock-out/tag-out procedures. Ensure extruded products meet required gauge, length, width, bond strength, color, dyne, and surface finish standards. Identify surface defects and perform quality control tests, including double-checking and data collection. Transfer data to the daily production log book, quality control documents, or forms used in the production process. Follow the production schedule and other related documents necessary to produce and meet customer orders, including those with specific instructions. Communicate line malfunctions promptly to minimize production downtime. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills Experience in machine operation and inspection. Detail-oriented and proficient in production processes. Ability to perform math calculations and measure using measuring tape or other instruments. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Computer literacy. Commitment to continuous improvement. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 1-2 years of experience or forklift certification. Ability to read production tickets. Capability to work at an accelerated pace.
