Job Title: Quality Technician

Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for programming and editing CMM programs, supporting the measurements of the inspection process, and contributing to the quality management system (QMS). You will complete measurements and inspections of products during their process and at final stages, ensuring consistent quality by validating processes and providing necessary documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Support the receiving inspection and new product development (NPD) process.
  • Measure parts from new suppliers and resolve any related issues by collaborating with engineers, purchasing departments, or suppliers.
  • Use a variety of measuring tools such as CMM, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Understand and interpret part drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) symbols.
  • Manage projects independently, ensuring timely completion.
  • Contribute to cross-training efforts, assisting in various aspects of quality assurance beyond CMM operation.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience operating CMMs; programming experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in PCDMIS software, with experience in CALYPSO or MCOSMOS being beneficial.
  • Strong measurement skills using calipers and micrometers.
  • Experience working with tight tolerance parts in aerospace, automotive, or medical industries.
  • Knowledge of part drawings and GD&T symbols.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with optical comparators and Keyence equipment is a plus.
  • Willingness to undergo training for programming CMMs if not already experienced.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small quality team.

Work Environment

This position is based in a climate-controlled facility with a 5S environment. The role requires working from 7am-3:30pm, Monday to Friday, with potential for half days based on production needs. You will be part of a team including a quality specialist and a quality engineer, with opportunities for ownership and growth within the company.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pleasant Prairie, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
