ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Join world-class experts in finding answers to our customer's toughest questions as a Quality Inspector. You will be responsible for performing standardized quality control checks on our company products to ensure they meet the required legal, environmental and company standards for safety and quality. You may also be required to prepare test data and identify areas for quality control improvement within an ISO 9001 & ISO13485 environment.
Through natural curiosity and passion for servicing our customers, the successful candidate will:
Maintain clear and concise records to comply with internal and external regulations.
Inspect raw materials according to quality and drawing requirements.
Enter and maintain documentation and records necessary in support of production processes, testing and inspection.
Enter data and perform transactions in ERP and Quality Management system.
Lead and perform weekly QMRB (Quality Material Review Board).
Lead and perform weekly Scrap.
Create First Article Inspection and follow up until a report is completed.
Create non-conformances in the system when rejection occurs, follow up and close them when the issue has been addressed.
Controls and Process chemicals.
Understand basic concepts of internal audits and follow ISO9001 & ISO13485 Quality management system guidelines.
Performing inspections at random to assess product quality
Observe all safety rules and maintain proper housekeeping using 5S techniques.
Recommend any necessary adjustments and changes to production processes.
Understand and comply with Ocean policies, procedures, and instructions to ensure product quality, customer satisfaction, attainment of business goals, and environmental well-being.
Other duties as assigned.
ABOUT THE CANDIDATE
To ensure success as a Quality Inspector, you should have a strong working knowledge of mathematical concepts, excellent visual awareness, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Ultimately, a Quality Inspector can efficiently monitor the integrity and quality of products without impeding production rates.
Our ideal candidate will bring a wealth of quality experience and should possess:
Associates degree or Quality certification preferred.
2 + years' experience as an Inspector or Quality Technician preferred.
Understanding of basic mathematical concepts, quality tools and sampling plans.
Skilled in basic computer software such as Microsoft Excel, Word.
Technical skills and ability to understand drawings/blueprints, documents, and manuals.
Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize activities within an environment of fast-paced periods of competing deadlines and fluctuating workload.
Strong attention to detail.
Able to work with little or no supervision.
Ability to influence others to follow rules and regulations.
Some lifting required up to 20 lbs.
High standard of ethics and integrity.
Good teamwork and interpersonal communication skills.
Experience with internal auditing a plus.
