Our facility in Orange, CT is looking for a Receiving and Shipping Inspector. Monday - Friday, 1st shift, (8am to 4pm).
A Receiving and Shipping Inspector is responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of a company's receiving & shipping process, ensuring all incoming and outgoing material adhere to established quality standards, including accurate documentation, proper packaging, and timely delivery, while maintaining detailed records and collaborating with various departments to address any quality concerns that may arise during the receiving and shipping process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspects incoming materials for conformance to requirements, reviews certifications for conformance, issues DMR or NCMR in our ERP system if needed.
- Conduct pre-shipment quality checks to verify product integrity, compliance with specifications, and correct labeling before packaging and shipping.
- Ensure customer shipment meets all requirements as stated in Contract Review.
- Monitor and investigate any quality issues reported during shipping, coordinating with production and quality control teams to implement corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed documentation of quality checks, including inspection reports and non-conformance records.
- Assisting with customer inquiries regarding shipping status and address any concerns related to quality issues.
- Collaborate with customer service team to provide accurate shipping information.
- Files electronic data on server and maintains accurate and orderly certification files in QA.
- Assists the lead Inspector and department manager as needed.
- Other tasks as assigned
Is this job for you ?
- Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent - Required
- Quality Inspection Experience (2 to 4 years) - Strongly Preferred
- High attention to detail and consistency
- Experience with basic measuring equipment such as calipers or micrometers and other common inspection tools
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications
- Experience in a smaller production environment
- Some experience with Visual Measuring Systems desired
- Able to adapt and prioritize to meet our customer needs and expectations.
- Team oriented - supports other team members and other teams as needed.

We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer prospective candidates and provide the local pay range for this position, which is $22.00 to $28.00 per hour. This hourly pay rate offered can vary depending on location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for periodic bonus payments/an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 10% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures. The total annual target cash range (Hourly Pay Rate plus Bonus, annualized (40 hrs/week * 52wks)) for this position, is $50,300.00 to $64,000.00. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.]
