AmeriStaff Employment & Staffing Solutions is currently seeking a Quality Supervisor for a direct hire opportunity with a manufacturing client in Chatham, VA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality systems, manufacturing environments, auditing, and continuous improvement while maintaining a hands-on presence on the production floor.

Responsibilities of the Quality Supervisor:

Maintain a hands-on approach to quality functions and support manufacturing operations daily.

Develop and maintain incoming inspection processes for raw materials and production components.

Upgrade and improve quality systems to ensure best practices are followed.

Establish inspection procedures for new products and production processes.

Schedule and conduct internal audits while documenting results and assigning audit responsibilities as needed.

Issue and follow up on corrective action requests to resolve quality issues effectively.

Coordinate and manage third-party certification audits for Environmental and Quality Management Systems.

Interface with customers, third-party auditors, ETL inspectors, and UL inspectors during audits and inspections.

Collaborate with internal teams to analyze customer complaints, vendor concerns, and internal quality issues while compiling reports and resolutions.

Develop supplier improvement initiatives, including supplier audit programs.

Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, and Logistics to ensure product quality standards are maintained.

Write, revise, and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and forms.

Manage controlled documents, including environmental and quality management system documentation, nonconforming material reports, and deviations.

Review and disposition nonconforming materials and customer returns.

Maintain safety standards and good housekeeping practices throughout the facility.

Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements of the Quality Supervisor:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field required.

Minimum of 5 years of quality experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment required.

Wire and cable industry experience preferred.

Strong understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and IATF 16949 standards.

Internal auditing certification preferred.

Advanced knowledge of computer systems and laboratory testing equipment.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Lean Manufacturing knowledge and experience preferred.

Experience working in a union environment preferred.

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
