stage of a project Job Description You will be a part of seasoned highly qualified team that performs Geotechnical and Materials Engineering Construction Materials Testing CMT ICC Special Inspections and Construction Inspections of some of the most complex and transformational infrastructure and industrial projects in our region You will have an opportunity to be a part of advanced manufacturing mission critical DOT and enormous federal projects in West Texas Our team is dedicated to creating leaders in our community so we will provide extensive training and continuous guidance to help you develop professionally Additionally we operate as a close knit team and will make sure your input is valued as we win and deliver these transformational projects Core Responsibilities Performs construction related field testing and inspections as directed by the Construction Materials Testing CMT Manager and Senior EngineerTravels to various construction sites primarily throughout the West Texas area with the potential likely for overnight andor weekend work as neededPerforms field soil and Hot Mix Asphalt HMA density testing using a nuclear density gauge and maintains proper handling procedures in accordance with radiation safety and HAZMAT requirementsPerforms field quality control testing of in place concrete including sampling and testing proceduresRelays information to project manager andor engineer with limited in field decision makingTransports equipment test specimens and documentation to field personnel laboratory staff clients or other officesProvides assistance with equipment setup and testing preparation at project sitesEnters daily field observation reports and summary reports electronicallyAssists other technicians and professional staff with tasks and supports other departments as necessaryFollows Atlas safety plans programs policies and proceduresPerforms IBC Chapter 17 Special Inspections of Reinforced Concrete Soils Structural Masonry Fireproofing Firestopping Structural Steel and Bolting Welding as applicableSupports projects from proposal through completion to ensure scope schedule budget and quality objectives are metMaintains communication with clients contractors and senior staff as neededDirects where necessary various activities at projects sitesOther duties as assignedYoull thrive here if you have Willingness to travel andor relocate to projects in West TexasWillingness to work flexible hours including early mornings evenings weekends or nights often in excess of 50 hours per weekHigh School Diploma or GED Equivalent2 years of Construction Materials Testing CMT experienceExperience performing soil density testing using a nuclear density gaugeCompletion of Nuclear Density Gauge Safety Training and HAZMAT certificationExperience performing concrete testingAbility to lift and transport testing equipmentAbility to maintain clear communication with clients contractors Atlas team members etcAbility to lift and transport material samples and testing equipment possibly in excess of 50 lbsAbility to submit daily summary reports and supporting data electronically on a daily basisACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade IAPNGAHAZMAT Certification for Nuclear Density GaugesFamiliarity with Submitting CMT Daily ReportsACI Concrete Compressive Strength a PlusTXAPA NICET or ICC Certifications Reinforced Concrete & Soils a PlusOSHA 10 HR A PlusExperience in Quality AssuranceQuality ControlThese sites are in remote locations so the possibility of travel is high If located near a project site travel may be minimized However if not located near a project site a full time presence on site is necessary for a minimum of 60 hours per weekExperience working on Mission Critical including Data Centers Semiconductor Projects etc or large infrastructure projects is a PlusDemonstrated experience collaborating and communicating with team members contractors and client representativesAbility to read and
