The Quality Manager is a steward for the site business systems and providesleadership for the Quality Engineering and Inspection functions. This positionworks closely with Operations, Engineering, Sales and Program Management toidentify problems, investigate causes and recommend/implement solutions thatimprove product quality. This includes maintaining metrics and indicators toidentify trends that adversely affect product quality and business performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Supervises direct reports including the Quality Engineering and InspectionfunctionsCoaches and directs the team to develop and maintain collaborative workingrelationships with both internal and external customers, driving improvedcustomer service.Supports the management system performance and ensures compliance withAS9100 and ISO9001 standardsRepresents the Quality function for new product introduction and programlaunches (ensuring customer requirements are met, validate processes, developinspection plans, etc.)Completes and maintains Process FMEAs and Control PlansEnsures inspection equipment is calibrated and properly maintained andperformedUses a structured methodology to identify improvement opportunities bymonitoring key performance metrics.Owns the CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) system and uses this toolto track, address and solve issues.Drive a "root-cause" company culture with respect to problem solvingVerifies effectiveness of problem resolution by monitoring productionperformance after implementation.Works directly with customer and suppliers for quality audits, sourceinspections and quality concernsEnsures all team members are trained as required.Adept at interfacing and working with Customers on quality-related mattersDevelops, implements, and maintains documents and procedures in compliancewith industry standards.Facilitates training systems to ensure proper workforce development andcompetence.Participate in Contract Review to help ensure Company compliance torequirements

Qualifications/Requirements

BS Degree in Engineering or related field, or minimum 5 years of experiencein QualityMinimum 5 years leadership experienceWorking knowledge of AS 9100, OHSAS 18001 and IPC requirementsExperience in Lean Manufacturing environmentExperience utilizing Quality tools including: FMEA, Fishbone, 5 Why, 8D,Value Stream Map, Process Flow, etc.)Experience using Quality tools and practicesExcellent Problem Solving, Statistical and Analytical skillsExcellent computer skills including expert proficiency in Microsoft ExcelExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to travel up to 10% of the time
