We are seeking a Controls Test Engineer to support a short-term onsite project focused on testing hardware and control system products to validate system functionality and performance. This role involves collaborating with hardware, electrical, software, and network engineering teams to develop and execute functional test plans for industrial automation and control systems. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with PLC systems, Ladder Logic programming, industrial networking, and automated testing processes. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with hardware, electrical, software, and network engineering teams to understand testing requirements and system changes. Develop and execute functional test plans for control system and PLC hardware validation. Perform system testing and functional validation of logic and PLC-based products. Conduct testing on managed Cisco switches and industrial networking components. Support network hardware and automation control systems within manufacturing and industrial environments. Develop scripts and automated test solutions using technologies such as Ladder Logic, Python, or PowerShell. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, network, and control system issues during testing activities. Perform upgrades and enhancements to testing tools and infrastructure for improved performance and automation. Support advanced manufacturing software applications, industrial drive systems, and automation platforms. Develop and maintain technical documentation including validation plans, operating procedures, qualification reports, technical reports, traceability matrices, and audit documentation. Participate in performance testing, system validation, and issue resolution activities. Ensure testing activities align with quality standards and operational requirements. Required Qualifications Minimum of 2+ years of experience with PLCs and/or industrial control systems. Experience creating and executing functional test plans for system testing. Hands-on experience with Allen Bradley hardware and control systems. Experience with Ladder Logic, Logix, or PLC programming. Scripting experience using Python, PowerShell, or related scripting technologies. Experience with network testing or operational technology (OT) networking. Knowledge of industrial automation systems and industrial control environments. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work onsite in Beachwood, OH. Preferred Qualifications PLC programming experience. Experience with industrial networking technologies including EtherNet, ControlNet, and DeviceNet. Experience with EMC or industrial-grade transceivers. Experience with Industrial Automation and ControlLogix systems. Experience with servo/motion control systems. Experience with low-voltage PowerFlex Drives or medium-voltage drives. Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Automation, Engineering, Technology, or related field preferred.
