A. Technical Administrion
Within the Advanced Qualificion Program(s), ensures on a continuing basis th Certifice Holders are properly and adequely organized, staffed, and equipped, have an adeque AQP including an acceptable record keeping system; and ensures th facilities and procedures meet all regulory requirements. Regularly s the Certifice Holder's training facilities and other offices to maintain contact with their approprie management officials; coordines with the principal operions inspector for correction of any deficiencies/discrepancies. Coordines with AFS-280 on AQP applicion, development, approval, and continued operion as a member of the Extended Review Team (ERT). This includes decision-making on movement through the phases of AQP. Coordines with the Certifice Holder on da development, collection, and analysis of AQP. Coordines communicion between Certifice Holder and Certifice-Holding District Office (CHDO) on all issues of AQP. Coordines with Certifice Holder on instructor/evaluor calibrion. Participes in annual review of AQPs and associed da analysis. Coordines with the Principal Operions Inspector and Aircrew Program Managers on management of Aircrew Designed Examiner (ADE) programs. Participes in quarterly or annual Instructor/Evaluor meetings for all fleets to ensure consistency, standardizion and applicable AQP regulions and guidance merial is observed and adequely applied. Chairs joint FAA-industry meetings; maintains regular contact with organizions assigned and coordines with top management officials.
B. Certi fici on
Coordines with Principal Operions Inspector and AFS-280 on initial applicion for AQP approval. Coordines with Principal Operions Inspector and AFS-280 on review and approval of curriculum development and all subsequent phases of AQP approval. Coordines with the Principal Operions Inspector to approve/accept or disapprove/reject AQP manuals and revisions to such manuals. Obtains amendments to previously approved manuals to accomplish the following: correct any conflict with regulory requirements; elimine unsafe practices; and/or improve the specificity of instruction. Evalues training programs to ensure th they meet the requirements of the Federal Aviion Regulions. Approves or disapproves these training programs including flight simulors, training devices, or other equipment used in these programs. Coordines with the Principal Operions Inspector and Aircrew Program Managers on designion of Check Airmen and makes recommendions on the appointment of designees. Assures standardizion of Check Airmen and designees and recommends to the Principal Operions Inspector and Aircrew Program Manager any changes which are considered necessary. Evalues operions and facilities by on-site inspections and reviews reports by Geographic Inspectors or others.
C. Surveillance
Responsible for monitoring all phases of Advanced Qualificion Program(s) including training programs and records; training facilities and training devices. Coordines with and reviews reports from Geographic Inspectors and others to identify trends which indice deteriorion in the safety of operions. Directs or suggests changes required to correct such trends. Responsible for analyzing grading da for all fleets using FAA analysis software and da for trending and reporting to the Principal Operions Inspectors and applicable program managers. Monitors and analyzes other training da and Instructor/Evaluor Quality Assurance Program da collected by the Certifice Holder, for trends and provides reports to the Principal Operions Inspector and applicable program managers. Conducts approprie surveillance acvities specifically focused on the carriers' training program and Instructor/Evaluor Programs.
May perform other duties as assigned.

General Requirements for All Positions:
Not more than two separe incidents involving Federal aviion regulions violions in the last 5 years;
Valid Ste driver's license;
Fluency in the English language;
No chemical dependencies or drug abuse th could interfere with job performance; and
High school diploma or equivalent.
Medical Requirements for All Positions:
Applicants must be physically able to perform the duties of the Aviion Safety Inspector position in a safe and efficient manner, with or without a reasonable accommodion . The minimum medical requirements include the following requirements:
Have good distant vision in each eye and be able to read, without strain, printed merials the size of typewritten characters (glasses and contact lenses permitted);
Have the ability to hear the conversional voice (hearing aid permitted); and
Not have any physical condition th would cause them to be a hazard to themselves or others th would interfere with their ability to fly as passengers in a variety of aircraft.
In addition, applicants for positions th require participion in the operion of the aircraft must:
Possess a valid second class medical certifice in accordance with FAA regulions; and
Pass recurrent medical examinions as prescribed by the FAA.

To qualify for this position you must meet the Office of Personnel Management Qualificion Standards for the 1825 series, you must demonstre in your applicion th you possess least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS/FG-13 as an Aviion Safety Inspector (GAO). Specialized experience is experience th has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience is: experience assisting, conducting, or performing various technical functions reled to certificion, surveillance, investigion, and enforcement activities.
In addition, when the predominant work involves General Aviion Operions, applicants for Aviion Safety Inspector (Operions) positions must meet all of the following requirements:
Valid, unexpired Flight Instructor Certifice with single and multi-engine airplane and instrument airplane rings. Must have given a minimum of 200 hours of flight instruction in an aircraft.
Professional flying skill as demonstred in a flight check to Commercial Pilot Certifice with an instrument ring;
Possession of Airline Transport Pilot Certifice or Commercial Pilot Certifice with instrument airplane ring.
Minimum of 100 flight hours within the last 3 years.
Minimum of 1,500 total flight hours.
Possession of single and multi-engine land airplane rings.
Not more than 2 flying accidents in the last 5 years in which the applicant's pilot error was involved.
Possession of a valid second-class FAA medical certifice.
The recency of specialized experience is waived for current FAA employees in the 1825 series.

Participes in annual review of AQPs and associed da analysis. Coordines with the Principal Operions Inspector and Aircrew Program Managers on management of Aircrew Designed Examiner (ADE) programs. Participes in quarterly or annual Instructor/Evaluor meetings for all fleets to ensure consistency, standardizion and applicable AQP regulions and guidance merial is observed and adequely applied. Chairs joint FAA-industry meetings; maintains regular contact with organizions assigned and coordines with top management officials.
B. Certi fici on
Coordines with Principal Operions Inspector and AFS-280 on initial applicion for AQP approval. Coordines with Principal Operions Inspector and AFS-280 on review and approval of curriculum development and all subsequent phases of AQP approval. Coordines with the Principal Operions Inspector to approve/accept or disapprove/reject AQP manuals and revisions to such manuals. Obtains amendments to previously approved manuals to accomplish the following: correct any conflict with regulory requirements; elimine unsafe practices; and/or improve the specificity of instruction. Evalues training programs to ensure th they meet the requirements of the Federal Aviion Regulions. Approves or disapproves these training programs including flight simulors, training devices, or other equipment used in these programs. Coordines with the Principal Operions Inspector and Aircrew Program Managers on designion of Check Airmen and makes recommendions on the appointment of designees. Assures standardizion of Check Airmen and designees and recommends to the Principal Operions Inspector and Aircrew Program Manager any changes which are considered necessary. Evalues operions and facilities by on-site inspections and reviews reports by Geographic Inspectors or others.
C. Surveillance
Responsible for monitoring all phases of Advanced Qualificion Program(s) including training programs and records; training facilities and training devices. Coordines with and reviews reports from Geographic Inspectors and others to identify trends which indice deteriorion in the safety of operions. Directs or suggests changes required to correct such trends. Responsible for analyzing grading da for all fleets using FAA analysis software and da for trending and reporting to the Principal Operions Inspectors and applicable program managers. Monitors and analyzes other training da and Instructor/Evaluor Quality Assurance Program da collected by the Certifice Holder, for trends and provides reports to the Principal Operions Inspector and applicable program managers. Conducts approprie surveillance acvities specifically focused on the carriers' training program and Instructor/Evaluor Programs.

General Requirements for All Positions:
Not more than two separe incidents involving Federal aviion regulions violions in the last 5 years;
Valid Ste driver's license;
Fluency in the English language;
No chemical dependencies or drug abuse th could interfere with job performance; and
High school diploma or equivalent.
Medical Requirements for All Positions:
Applicants must be physically able to perform the duties of the Aviion Safety Inspector position in a safe and efficient manner, with or without a reasonable accommodion . The minimum medical requirements include the following requirements:
Have good distant vision in each eye and be able to read, without strain, printed merials the size of typewritten characters (glasses and contact lenses permitted);
Have the ability to hear the conversional voice (hearing aid permitted); and
Not have any physical condition th would cause them to be a hazard to themselves or others th would interfere with their ability to fly as passengers in a variety of aircraft.
In addition, applicants for positions th require participion in the operion of the aircraft must:
Possess a valid second class medical certifice in accordance with FAA regulions; and

Valid, unexpired Flight Instructor Certifice with single and multi-engine airplane and instrument airplane rings. Must have given a minimum of 200 hours of flight instruction in an aircraft.
Professional flying skill as demonstred in a flight check to Commercial Pilot Certifice with an instrument ring;
Possession of Airline Transport Pilot Certifice or Commercial Pilot Certifice with instrument airplane ring.
Minimum of 100 flight hours within the last 3 years.
Minimum of 1,500 total flight hours.
Possession of single and multi-engine land airplane rings.
Not more than 2 flying accidents in the last 5 years in which the applicant's pilot error was involved.
Possession of a valid second-class FAA medical certifice.
The recency of specialized experience is waived for current FAA employees in the 1825 series.
