About the Role
A leading global manufacturer in the consumer packaged goods and food industry is seeking a Labeling and Regulatory Compliance Specialist to support product labeling accuracy and regulatory adherence across a diverse portfolio. This role is responsible for ensuring that all product labeling meets federal, state, and third-party certification requirements, while partnering cross-functionally to support innovation, compliance, and risk management initiatives.
This is a highly collaborative role working with teams across Marketing, Research & Development (R&D), Legal, Supply Chain, and Quality. The ideal candidate brings strong regulatory knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Job Description
This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of product labeling across a wide portfolio of food products. The Labeling and Regulatory Compliance Specialist partners closely with cross-functional teams to support product launches, updates, and ongoing compliance initiatives by translating complex regulatory requirements into clear, accurate labeling. This position requires a balance of technical expertise, attention to detail, and strong collaboration skills to help mitigate risk while supporting business objectives.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on food labeling regulations and communicate updates, risks, and opportunities to cross-functional teams
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations (FDA, USDA), company policies, and third-party certification standards (e.g., Non-GMO Project, GFCO)
  • Develop and maintain accurate product labeling information, including nutrition facts, ingredient statements, allergens, product names, and claims
  • Review and approve packaging artwork, labeling graphics, and product text for accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance
  • Prepare, complete, and submit regulatory documentation to support product claims and compliance requirements, including interactions with regulatory agencies and third-party organizations
  • Support regulatory strategy by identifying and addressing labeling-related risks, including food safety, litigation, and brand considerations
  • Stay current on regulatory updates, industry trends, and food labeling best practices
  • Respond to consumer and customer inquiries related to product labeling and compliance
  • Collaborate on process improvements, system enhancements, and standardization initiatives
  • Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high accuracy
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in food labeling, regulatory affairs, or a related area
  • Strong understanding of U.S. food labeling regulations (FDA, USDA)
  • Experience working in cross-functional environments with teams such as R&D, Marketing, and Quality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis, risk assessment, and corrective action
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of regional and international regulatory standards and documentation requirements
  • Familiarity with food product development and commercialization processes
  • Understanding of food safety standards and allergen management
  • Experience with third-party certifications (e.g., Non-GMO, Gluten-Free)
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and support regulatory decision-making
  • Self-starter with strong initiative and ability to work independently
