Regulatory Affairs Specialist About the Role The Regulatory Affairs Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring our products meet USDA and other regulatory requirements, while also supporting product innovation and business growth. This position partners closely with teams across the organization to interpret regulations, assess risk, and ensure that labeling, manufacturing, and product decisions are compliant, accurate, and marketready. What You'll Do In this role, you'll serve as a trusted regulatory partner across the organization. Key responsibilities include: Ensure regulatory compliance with USDA and other applicable regulations by monitoring changes, interpreting requirements, and recommending clear implementation strategies Stay ahead of regulatory changes and proactively communicate impacts and requirements to internal stakeholders in a timely, easytounderstand way Partner crossfunctionally with Product Development, Quality, Operations, Sales, and other teams to build and maintain effective compliance systems and controls Support new product development, including reviewing formulations, ingredients, packaging, and responding to internal and customer regulatory inquiries Review and approve product labeling, including Nutrition Facts, ingredient statements, allergen declarations, and net weights Manage Child Nutrition Labeling (CNL) submissions and approvals to ensure compliance with program requirements Maintain accurate labeling and product data within Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems Support export regulatory requirements for products sold outside the U.S., as needed Train and support internal tea ms on regulatory processes, expectations, and best practices What You Bring Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong knowledge of USDA regulations and food labeling requirements Ability to interpret regulatory language and apply it to realworld business decisions High attention to detail with strong organization and project management skills Comfort working in a fastpaced, collaborative environment with multiple priorities Strong communicator who can engage effectively with internal teams and external agencies Ability to influence and drive compliance outcomes through partnership Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Education & Experience Bachelor's degree preferred (Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, or related field is a plus) An equivalent combination of education and relevant regulatory experience will be considered Minimum 5 years of regulatory affairs experience in the food processing industry Poultry or meat industry experience is preferred Handson experience with food labeling, ingredient compliance, and regulatory interpretation Work Environment Officebased role with typical computer and desk work Sitting and standing for extended periods Reasonable accommodations are available to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the role Why This Role Matters This position helps protect the company, our customers, and our consumers by ensuring regulatory compliance while enabling innovation and growth.
