This hands-on role plays a vital part in ensuring the quality of our products through thorough inspections, verification of conformance to specifications, and active engagement in our continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Associate will interpret engineering drawings, utilize measurement equipment, accurately document results, and help ensure compliance with our rigorous quality standards and procedures. Duties and Responsibilities Inspection & Verification Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to determine inspection requirements and critical dimensions. Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) with minimal supervision. Conduct accurate and efficient inspections of inbound materials, components, and hardware at receiving, with assistance as needed. Perform final inspections of completed products prior to shipment. Inspect in-process products for conformance to specifications, manufacturing requirements, and quality standards. Conduct routine and non-routine inspections across all manufacturing areas. Inspect supplier-provided materials to ensure compliance with specifications and requirements. Documentation & Data Management Collect, record, and maintain inspection data for quality records and reports. Input data into Quality Alerts, nonconformance reports, or other required quality forms. Identify, document, and properly segregate nonconforming material. Ensure all measurement and inspection equipment used is within current calibration status. Communication & Support Notify the Team Lead or Supervisor of issues related to product quality, procedures, equipment, safety, or inventory accuracy. Maintain effective working relationships with engineering, production, warehouse, and quality team members. Provide guidance and informal training to fellow employees as needed. Continuous Improvement & Safety Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost reduction. Maintain a high level of personal safety awareness and keep work areas clean, organized, and orderly. Support Quality Commitment by adhering to all systems, policies, and procedures and promoting a continuous improvement mindset. Additional Duties & Responsibilities (Inspection, Rework & Handling) Perform product rework as required, using hand tools and small power tools according to work instructions and quality requirements. Handle printed circuit boards (PCBs), wiring harnesses, and electronic components in compliance with established ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) control procedures. Follow all ESD protocols, including proper grounding, use of ESD safe tools, workstations, and protective equipment. Inspect and rework electronic assemblies to ensure proper installation, routing, and connection of components and harnesses. Identify, document, and escalate any damage, defects, or nonconformances observed during rework or handling of electronic components. Maintain ESD compliant work areas to prevent damage to sensitive components. Required Skills & Qualifications Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Outlook, Excel) and basic office software. Proficiency in basic handheld measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, Pi tapes, angle gauges, height gauges). Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications. Strong attention to detail with basic math and calculation skills. Ability to accurately complete inspection documentation and maintain work logs. Experience using warehouse equipment as required for the role. Experience working in an onsite manufacturing environment to support production operations. Familiarity with ERP systems preferred. Physical & Work Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform inspections throughout manufacturing and warehouse areas. Capability to lift and handle parts or materials as required by the inspection process.
