What you will be responsible for:

  • Advocate and educate all levels of employees on the Kelvion quality statement.
  • Plans and oversees activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards.
  • Develops and implements standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation, utilizing knowledge in engineering fields.
  • Establish program to evaluate analytical testing equipment, facilities, precision measurements, accuracy measurements, and performance testing.
  • Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.
  • Develop and implement a QMS compliant to ISO 9001:2015 resulting in certification.
  • Maintain and audit manufacturing adherence to our quality management system.
  • Manage root cause analysis program including 8D, 5-why, fishbone, etc. Communicate findings and establish preventative action measures with customer engagement.
  • Develop Process Flow Maps and PFMEA to identify and evaluate potential failures of a process.
  • Use proactive tools like PFMEA to identify quality control issues before they happen, working with the quality supervisor to implement preventive measures.
  • Develop a robust calibration system and work with Quality personnel to maintain.
  • Work closely with and support the Supplier Quality Engineer.
  • Work with quality control documentation team to update visual work instructions, quality inspection checklists, and data collection points; ensure data collection is useful and actionable for preventative measures.

COMPETENCY OR POSITION REQUIREMENTS (knowledge, skills, and abilities)

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to write correspondence in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and job experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Quality Engineering
  • Ability to communicate with a cross-functional internal team as well as direct communication with high-value customers
  • A hands-on approach to problem solving and desire to collaborate directly with manufacturing labor force to implement and maintain quality procedures
  • Strong computer literacy to develop and maintain digital process documentation, Microsoft Office suite proficiency required
  • Experience implementing or maintaining ISO9001 documentation
  • Six Sigma Green / Black belt certification (preferred)
