Job Responsibilities
- Maintain compliance with 14 CFR Part 145 & EASA Part 145, and customer approvals
- Obtain and maintain AS9110 accreditation
- Serve as a liaison with regulatory authorities, customers and external auditors
- Ensure that QMS processes and procedures meet the requirement of statutory system
- Approve all QMS documentation and all new equipment and tooling that directly effects product quality
- Train personnel on Quality and Operator processes and procedures
- Conduct internal quality audits and audits of suppliers
- Investigate customer complaints and internal non-conformances
- Track warranty, auditing, and customer feedback to improve process integrity
- Manage the tool and test equipment calibration system
- Ensure Quality manuals are current and compliant
- Ensure Training manuals and records are current and compliant
- Inspect product, processes, and metrics to find opportunities to improve quality
- Manage quality compliance and improvement programs
- Responsible for document control and gage calibration systems
- Ensure regulatory requirements and reports are maintained and are in compliance
- Assist in benchmarking best practices across the company so that successes, failures and obstacles can be identified, communicated and leveraged across departments and the site
- Ensure that shop floor procedures, documentation and manuals are kept up to date.
- Work in accordance with the attached competencies as agreed by yourself and the Accountable Manager
- Must be mentally coherent and free from the influence of drugs (either illegal or legally prescribed drugs that may cause impairment) while performing in the capacity of "safety-sensitive" duties/operations per FAA regulations
- Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned
Required Skills / Knowledge
- Thorough knowledge of Company's policies and procedures
- Requirements of 14 CFR 145 & EASA Part 145.
- Familiarity working in an aviation component or accessories environment
- Strong background working with ISO9001; preferably AS9110 Quality Systems
- Comfortability working within a highly regulated mechanical component overhaul or manufacturing environment
- Well versed working with internal and third-party companies to audit for compliancy
- Excellent skill-set computer software (MS Office / spreadsheets / internet websites / PowerPoint / Outlook / MS Project & Access)
- Awareness of office equipment (fax machines, copiers, phone systems)
- Basic data entry
- Management and supervision will be a requirement of this position- must be capable of mentoring and providing positive leadership
- Strong analytical and problem solving with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work with confidential information
- Demonstrated ability to lead and conduct audits
- Must address and solve issues proactively with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Understand and interpret vendor invoices, statements and other requests for payment
- Must read, write, speak and understand English per FAA Regulations
- Ability to communicate effectively (both written and oral)
- Ability to process data into useful information and organize workload to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to perform mathematical calculations related to job function
- Must adapt well within a team environment
- Ability to be flexible with work schedule
Experience
- Minimum three (3) years' experience in a Quality management position preferably in a FAA repair station environment
Education Requirements
- BS Degree (or equivalent) in Quality Management
- Licensed FAA A&P Mechanic or eligible for an FAA Part 65 Repairman Certificate (preferred)
- Preferably certified as an AS9110 Quality Systems Lead Auditor, or able to obtain certification within 12 months
Physical Requirements
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Must be able to sit/stand for up to 8 hours
- Must be able to look at computer monitor for up to 8 hours
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to type for long periods of time
