Job Summary:
Onsemi is seeking an Electrical Reliability Test Technician to specialize in the execution and monitoring of electrical stress protocols for semiconductor devices at our Arizona Tempe/Scottsdale Rel Lab operations. This role focuses on characterizing device stability under extreme electrical conditionsspecifically high-voltage, high-current, and transient power events. You will bridge the gap between hardware setup and data acquisition, ensuring that electrical stress is applied precisely according to JEDEC and internal specifications.
RESPONSIBILITIESCore Responsibilities
- Electrical Stress Execution: Set up and manage advanced electrical stress tests, including High-Temperature Operating Life (HTOL), Early Life Failure Rate (ELFR), Power Cycle Test, and Dynamic Burn-in.
- Precision Electrical Characterization: Perform pre- and post-stress I-V (current-voltage) characterization using Curve Tracers and Source Measure Units (SMUs) to detect subtle parametric shifts.
- Power Integrity Monitoring: Utilize Oscilloscopes and Logic Analyzers to monitor power rails and signal transitions during stress testing to ensure the "stress" remains within specified tolerances.
- Failure Data Acquisition: Monitor "in-situ" electrical data during long-term stress runs. Identify and log anomalies such as thermal runaway, voltage spikes, or unexpected current consumption.
- Test Hardware Validation: Verify the electrical integrity of Burn-in Boards (BIBs) and test sockets. Perform continuity and isolation checks to ensure hardware does not introduce electrical noise or artifacts into the data.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain precise logs of electrical parameters (Vdd, Icc, etc.) and generate initial delta-reports comparing pre-stress and post-stress electrical performance.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in a semiconductor lab environment or reliability testing facility.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with JEDEC/ESDA standards for component reliability. Ability to read schematics and use standard lab tools (Oscilloscopes, DMMs, Curve Tracers).
- Experience operating reliability stress tools (HTOL, ELFR, HAST, Temperature Cycling, etc.).
- Education: Associates degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field (or equivalent military/technical training).
- Attributes: High attention to detail, strong safety mindset when handling sensitive components, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced lab.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
