The Quality Engineer is responsible for managing the plant quality program; ensuring products and materials meet specification, continually improving processes, maintaining compliance with regulatory quality standards. The qualified individual will act as a role model and represent the company’s values.

Responsibilities:

  • Plans, organizes, leads and controls the quality function to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Develops/maintains procedures for product testing to ensure reliability, durability, manufacturability and safety of finished products.
  • Compliance: internal audits by established schedule to evaluate regulatory compliance and external audits by customers. Acts as management representative for inspections.
  • Oversee day-to-day operation ensuring processes and training are in place to evaluate incoming raw material and manufactured finished products against internal and customer specifications and expectations.
  • Manage CAPA program for internal and customer non-conformances and complaints, including root cause findings, corrective actions and required internal and external communications.
  • Collect and monitor quality data to identify out of control trends or deviations from normal quality/process control limits. Ensure all quality related documents and/or records per internal/external requirements are properly maintained.
  • Tracks quality performance of plant; non-conformance, reworks, customer complaints, delivery, analyze trends and work with production to determine and implement corrective actions, report quality data for management review.
  • Works with production in addressing quality questions / problems, providing recommendations, establishing and monitoring corrective actions.
  • Ensures that calibration schedules and QC procedures are established and followed.
  • Develops / reviews / revises quality system procedures and SOPs as necessary.
  • Develops/maintains procedures for ensuring internal processes can achieve specifications described in the product design phase.
  • Conduct analysis of quality indicators to identify trends, initiate investigations and implement appropriate corrective actions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering or similar field required
  • 5-8 years minimum experience in Quality Assurance/ Operations
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, working knowledge of GDT application
  • Knowledge of ISO quality standards
  • Experience with elements of ASQ body of knowledge such as Pareto Charts, Cpk, 6 sigma, Control Plans, FMEA, and statistical analysis.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time; ability to bend and to lift heavy materials, up to 50 pounds
  • Strong basic statistics experience, including statistical process control
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to understand complex written and verbal instructions
