Quality Assurance Inspector | Monticello, MN | $28-$34/hr | Direct Hire M-F 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Konik is partnering with a well-established manufacturing company supporting a wide variety of production environments across North America and globally. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-precision components within a collaborative, engineering-driven environment. The team is lean, hands-on, and plays a critical role in ensuring product quality, continuous improvement, and long-term reliability of capital equipment systems.
Quality Assurance Inspector Responsibilities:
Inspect material certifications to ensure compliance with engineering requirements
Verify material hardness, surface finish, and dimensional accuracy
Determine inspection sample sizes based on lot size and best practices
Perform inspections using hand metrology tools on tight tolerance components with complex GD&T
Operate and program CMM equipment (Zeiss - older model) to perform automated inspections and record data
Conduct first article and in-process inspections
Identify non-conforming materials and generate Discrepant Material Reports (DMRs)
Disposition of non-conforming materials based on functional requirements and historical data
Coordinate with Engineering, Production, and Purchasing on non-conformances
Manage secondary processing documentation and material flow
Prepare parts for inspection (cleaning, surface prep) to ensure accurate results
Perform minor rework, such as deburring
Communicate with vendors regarding corrective actions and inspection improvements
Collaborate with Engineering to develop inspection plans using AQL data
Support failure analysis and reverse engineering efforts
Maintain and organize the inspection lab
Support additional operational needs as required
Quality Assurance Inspector Qualifications:
Two-year technical degree, metrology certification, or 2+ years of industrial metrology experience
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
Working knowledge of GD&T
Experience operating and programming CMM equipment
Strong attention to detail and communication skills
Ability to work both independently and within a team
CMM Experience Includes:
Fixture setup, probe changes, and program execution
Writing and editing CMM programs
Qualifying equipment and building probe assemblies
Logging and storing inspection data digitally
