Radar Integration Test Technician

Job Description

The Radar Integration Test Technician performs hands-on RF testing, assembly, and integration of radar subsystems in a laboratory or controlled test environment. This role supports a large-scale modernization effort to replace air traffic control radars across the United States by ensuring that radar components meet stringent defense, quality, and safety standards. The technician follows detailed technical procedures, accurately documents test results, and collaborates with engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Responsibilities

  • Perform RF testing on radar subsystems using standard RF test equipment and instrumentation.
  • Assemble and integrate RF components, including RF wiring, cabling, and connectors.
  • Set up and operate RF and electronic test equipment in laboratory or controlled test environments.
  • Follow detailed technical procedures, test plans, and documentation requirements to execute tests consistently and accurately.
  • Record, organize, and report test results with a high level of accuracy and clarity.
  • Support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of RF and electronic issues identified during testing.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable defense, quality, and safety standards throughout all testing and integration activities.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other technical staff to support radar subsystem integration and validation.
  • Maintain test setups, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Support both laboratory and production-style test environments as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Experience working with RF instrumentation and RF testing equipment.
  • Hands-on experience with RF wiring, cabling, and RF component assembly.
  • Experience working in laboratory or production test environments.
  • Ability to follow detailed technical procedures, test plans, and documentation requirements.
  • Electronics experience with practical RF and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Electrical technician or electrical engineering experience applied in a hands-on test or integration role.
  • Ability to accurately record and report test data and support troubleshooting activities.
  • Understanding of basic defense, aerospace, or high-reliability quality and safety practices.
  • Ability to travel internationally for approximately 90 days.
  • Valid passport.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate degree (AS/AAS) in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Systems, Control Systems, RF Technology, or a related technical field, OR technical/trade school certification as an Electronics or Telecommunications Technician.
  • Preferred: Associate degree or technical certification specifically focused on Electronics or RF Technology.
  • Preferred: Prior experience supporting radar systems or defense-related systems.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with defense or aerospace standards and procedures.
  • Preferred: Spanish language skills for collaboration during international assignments.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in a highly regulated environment.
  • Effective communication skills to work closely with engineers and other technical team members.
  • Ability to adapt to new test setups, procedures, and evolving project requirements.

Work Environment

This position is fully onsite in a brand-new, modern facility in Olathe, providing access to advanced RF and electronic test equipment within well-organized laboratory and controlled test environments. The work involves hands-on use of RF test instruments, electronic measurement equipment, and radar subsystems in a setting that emphasizes safety, quality, and adherence to defense-related standards. The role includes international travel, with an expected assignment of approximately 90 days in Spain to support radar integration and testing activities. The environment supports collaborative work with engineers and technicians, with structured procedures, clear documentation practices, and a focus on innovation and reliability as part of a large, long-term program to replace air traffic control radars across the United States. Attire is typical of a professional technical and laboratory setting, with any additional safety or protective gear provided as required by specific tasks.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45000.00 - $87000.00/yr.

Company offers 3 weeks of pto and 12 holidays. overall excellent benefits
