Quality Control Specialist

As a Quality Control Specialist, you play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of data within our organization. You are responsible for identifying discrepancies, inconsistencies, and missing information within datasets, and making necessary changes to ensure data adheres to relevant regulations and standards. Your work involves collaborating with relevant teams to resolve data-related problems and discrepancies, implementing quality improvement strategies, and suggesting enhancements to our processes. You will create reports summarizing data review findings, identify areas for improvement in data collection and management processes, and serve as the primary point of contact for minor LIMS-related issues and inquiries, providing timely resolution. Your expertise supports the labs digital transformation efforts, driving continuous improvement and efficiency.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Check data against source documents, specifications, or established standards;
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to resolve data-related problems and discrepancies;
  • Implement quality improvement strategies and suggest enhancements;
  • Create reports summarizing data review findings and actions taken;
  • Identify areas for improvement in data collection and management processes;
  • Ensure data adheres to relevant regulations and standards;
  • Configure and maintain the LIMS, including user roles, permissions, and system settings;
  • Prioritize resources to various processes/plants based on communicated site priorities;
  • Configure workflows, forms, fields, and reporting within the LIMS;
  • Generate custom reports, dashboards, and system solutions to meet business needs;
  • Manage and maintain master data, service level agreements, and sample group templates;
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, tracking receipts, shipments, and stock movements;
  • Monitor inventory levels, identify potential shortages, and initiate reordering as needed;
  • Perform regular inventory audits to verify accuracy and reconcile discrepancies;
  • Work with other departments, vendors, and team members to coordinate supply chain activities.

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

  • High school degree with 10 years of lab experience;
  • Knowledge of LIMS software, SQL scripting, and Microsoft Software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S degree with 3 years of lab experience, OR A.A with 6 years of lab experience.
  • Ability to identify trends, patterns, and potential problems within datasets;
  • Understanding of laboratory workflows, analytical methods, and sample types;
  • Familiarity with relevant software, database systems, and data analysis tools such as StarLiMS, Empower, SAP, etc.;
  • Ability to clearly communicate data review findings and collaborate with others;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for training, documentation, and collaboration;
  • Ability to meticulously examine data for errors and inconsistencies;
  • Ensuring data accuracy, compliance, and thoroughness in all tasks;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and requirements;
  • High care factor.

Position located in Kansas City, Missouri

Posting will be available through September 23, 2025.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $60,334.40 - $90,501.60. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. If selected for this role, the offer may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicants skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
