The Quality Control Technician is responsible for documenting, monitoring, and verifying procedures to ensure the safe and high-quality production of our products. This role plays a vital part in upholding food safety standards and compliance through daily checks, internal audits, and communication across departments. This position does not supervise others but serves as a key resource for best practices and continuous quality improvement.
SHIFT OPPORTUNITIES:
- Thursday - Saturday Days from 5am-5:30pm PST
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct timely and accurate QC checks throughout production areas and document findings.
- Verify that production logs, batch records, and procedures are completed correctly.
- Monitor compliance with PC/HACCP, SSOP, SOP, and GMP standards.
- Support internal audits and assist in maintaining certifications (SQF, Organic, Kosher).
- Use data to inform and improve food safety and quality control procedures.
- Ensure that quarantined/held products and raw materials are properly identified and tracked using ERP systems (e.g., OBEER).
- Support the Quality Manager in refining QC processes, policies, and documentation.
- Promote GMP practices across departments and act as a role model for quality standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams and respond to consumer concerns with data-driven insights.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Safety, or related field OR minimum 6 months' experience in food manufacturing required.
- Working knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, SSOPs, GMPs); certifications preferred.
- Comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively on the production floor.
- Able to operate in a laboratory setting and follow lab procedures.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office, and ERP systems (experience with OBEER a plus).

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Active production floor environment (noise, moving equipment, chemicals).
- Standing/walking for 8-12 hours daily.
- Exposure to cold/refrigerated areas, hot liquids, outdoor conditions.
- May require working at heights or lifting heavy items.
- Shift flexibility: may include weekends, holidays, or multiple shifts as needed.
