Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a Senior Analyst (Regulatory Reporting) that will be responsible for executing internal audits and quality assurance (QA) testing efforts related to secondary mortgage investment quality components, and compliance with regulatory reporting requirements for Ineligible Investor Repurchased Loans, Bank Transferred Mortgage Loans and Repurchase Aversions. This position will assist in evaluation of design and operational effectiveness of processes and controls as well as evaluate the completeness and accuracy of regulatory reporting through quality assurance audits both Post-Close and Prefund. This position will assist in identifying root causes of identified issues to strengthen and improve controls. This position will assist with reporting of special projects or assignments as assigned.

  • Strong Quality control appraisal analysis techniques/abilities
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills to perform multiple work assignments.
  • Able to sit for extended periods of time performing sedentary activities.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of prior experience in Banking Quality Control/Quality Assurance, Secondary Market and/or Consumer Underwriting, Servicing, Operations, or Originations
  • 3+ years of experience in an oversight function such as audit, controls, risk, or compliance within the financial services industry.
  • Ability to Problem Solve and make decisions when variables, alternatives, and outcomes are not clearly defined.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong understanding of audit and control processes
  • Advanced testing or Quality Assurance testing techniques preferred.
  • Working knowledge of both Machine Learning, AI, Manual and Automated testing
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly convey information and ideas, to listen and respond appropriately to employees, and individuals throughout ONB Footprint.

Key Measures of Success/Key Deliverables:

  • Performs work under the broad direction of the Mortgage Origination & Servicing QC Manager which can include individual or multiple assignments and/or projects.
  • Documents Investor Audits throughout ONB Mortgage Division by managing the comprehensive risk and control of potential ineligible mortgage loans to problem solve or initiate repurchase.
  • Assists in development, execution, auditing, and reporting of quality assurance reviews covering regulatory and agency guidelines.
  • Maintains control system of record software (ACES) to provide a well-documented and organized audit footprint.
  • Coaches, trains, and develops team members to improve their knowledge of agency and regulatory standards and risks. Collaborates and reviews audits as needed to ensure compliance with stated objectives.
  • Actively supports People Development as a Credentials Subject Matter Expert.
  • Follow-up to ensure the timely receipt of deficiency docs to meet investor quality standards and avert repurchase of loans and losses to bank.
  • Identifies, documents, presents, and assists in impact analysis for control deficiencies; also assists in the development of mitigation strategies.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with the Banks process and control owners including both staff and management as well as internal and external auditors and regulators via periodic and effective communication.
  • Assist in Preparation of Monthly Reports which track and monitor Material, Moderate and recurring audit exceptions identified during the audit review process.
  • Manage and Audit QC Vendor Oversight as required.
  • Conduct Audit reviews on mortgage loans required by Investors, agencies, insurers, or warehouse lenders.
  • Identifies trends by Analyzing outcomes from monthly audit reviews.
  • Maintains ongoing process to ensure remedial efforts have produced satisfactory results to immediately detect recurrences of audit defects.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by management.
