Overview:

The Quality Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability and quality of IT systems and software solutions. This role demands a strong understanding of business processes, underlying technologies, and system integrations. The ideal candidate must be able to analyze how data flows across systems, identify points of failure, and trace issues back to their root cause efficiently. The individual should be well-versed in creating test scenarios and test cases, managing defects using tools like JIRA, and contributing to continuous quality improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understand and analyze end-to-end business processes and the technical ecosystem, including system integrations and data flows.
• Identify the correct failure point across complex application landscapes and perform thorough root cause analysis.
• Define and document clear, concise, and comprehensive test scenarios, test cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Manage and track defects in JIRA, ensuring proper documentation, follow-up, and closure.
• Participate in requirement reviews and provide input from a QA and business process standpoint.
• Conduct functional, integration, regression, and exploratory testing to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Perform defect trend analysis and recommend improvements for processes and system stability.
• Collaborate with development, business analysts, and support teams to ensure requirements are testable and implemented as intended.
• Support quality assurance standards and contribute to the enhancement of QA methodologies and best practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex systems and business workflows.
• Solid understanding of system architecture, data integration points, and how information flows across platforms.
• Hands-on experience in writing and executing test cases and managing test cycles using JIRA or similar tools.
• Familiarity with requirements and risk-based testing approaches.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across teams and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to manage tasks independently and take initiative in identifying quality risks or gaps.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years of experience in Quality Assurance or Software Testing in IT environments.
• Experience working on projects of moderate to high complexity.
