Job Description
Position Title: Supplier Quality Engineer
Wage: Based on Experience

Supplier Quality Engineer Responsibilities:
- Ensure that suppliers adhere to company and industry quality standards, regulations, and specifications
- Assist suppliers when needed to develop process and inspection gates to assure compliance
- Conduct audits at supplier facilities to assess their quality systems and manufacturing processes
- Investigate and analyze defects or quality issues that arise from supplier materials or processes
- Work with suppliers as needed to validate corrective actions are in place and effective
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, acting as a liaison between the company and the supplier
- Track and evaluate supplier performance based on metrics like quality, delivery, and cost, developing a repeatable process for ongoing assessments
- Be involved in the early stages of new product development, working with design engineers to ensure suppliers meet the necessary specifications
- Lead initiatives to improve supplier quality and process capabilities
- Document quality issues, corrective actions, and audit results, and generate reports for management
Requirements for Supplier Quality Engineer:
- Understanding of quality standards, manufacturing processes and engineering principles
- Knowledge of casting, welding, painting, machining, fastening and torquing
- Knowledge of AIAG Special Processes CQI-23, CQI-11, CQI-12, CQI-27, CQI-15 highly desired
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and diagnose root causes of quality problems
- Ability to develop and implement solutions to quality issues
- Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, internal teams, and management
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers
- Ability to manage multiple projects, track progress and meet deadlines
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management or a related field is common
- Experience in quality engineering, supplier management, or manufacturing
- Certifications like ASQ, ISO, or Six Sigma, may be beneficial; AWS certification is required
