Job Summary

B&A is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to join a contract with a federal government client in support of an important mission. We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to lead and oversee quality assurance processes in an enterprise IT environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong infrastructure background, cloud expertise, and experience across all phases of the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC). This role requires experience in agile and DevSecOps environments and the ability to mentor junior staff, analyze complex problems, and ensure the highest standards of quality in IT systems and solutions.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and oversee quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with enterprise IT standards.

Ensure best practices in infrastructure and cloud environments (hybrid cloud preferred) to support IT operations and development.

Manage and lead QA efforts across all phases of the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC), ensuring thorough testing, validation, and verification of systems.

Work collaboratively in agile and DevSecOps environments, integrating QA practices into CI/CD pipelines.

Identify, analyze, and resolve root causes of quality issues, implementing effective solutions.

Develop strategic QA plans, including test strategies, test cases, and risk assessments.

Mentor junior staff and team members unfamiliar with QA methodologies, documentation, or project delivery processes.

Maintain strong working relationships with executive leadership, senior management, developers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure quality standards are met.

Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, best practices, and technologies related to QA, DevSecOps, and infrastructure.

Education and Experience

10+ years of experience in enterprise IT environments

Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience

BA Degree or higher in IT

Required Skills

Strong infrastructure experience and expertise

Cloud experience (hybrid preferred)

Experience in all phases of the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

Experience working in an agile and/or DevSecOps environment

Desired Skills

Natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics. Ability to analyze problems

and determine root cause, generating alternatives, evaluating, and selecting alternatives and implementing

solutions

Experience in mentoring junior staff and/or staff not experienced with methodology, documentation, or project delivery

Excellent active listening skills, strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of

personnel, executive leadership, senior management, users, vendors and subcontractor personnel.
