Job Summary and Qualifications

The Quality Management Nurse is responsible for ensuring data-driven performance management and quality improvement programs are designed and implemented in alignment with the organization's overall strategy. The position is responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, implementing and evaluating hospital wide process improvements resulting in more effective and efficient care to patients. Collaborates with department managers and staff for departmental data-driven approaches to PI using statistical tools for data analysis.

What you will do in this role:

  • Responsible for the planning, development, coordination and implementation, evaluation of hospital-wide process improvements resulting in more effective and efficient care to patients.
  • Collaborate with and act as consultant for department leaders and staff for data-driven approach to PI using statistical tools for data analysis.
  • Advise, implement and evaluate measures resulting in better healthcare and operational outcomes in accordance with current laws and regulations.
  • Develop and manage quality assurance activities including database management, quality trending reports and internal regulatory compliance documentation.
  • Evaluate data to prioritize process improvement initiatives and evaluate effectiveness of programs on both hospital operations and the health of the patient.
  • Lead and/or actively participate in task forces or groups to positively impact patient safety.
  • Help to ensure compliance with statutory mandates, regulatory requirements and accreditation standards of professional organizations such as the Joint Commission.
  • Disseminates information and research related to changes in regulatory requirements and clinical research pertinent to potential liability exposures and safety issues.
  • Respond to Patient Safety concerns as requested.
What qualifications you will need:
  • (RN) Registered Nurse in the state in which you practice or active compact multi-state license required
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing required
  • Masters Degree in Nursing preferred
  • BLS
  • 2 years of acute care/hospital-based experience required
  • Hospital patient safety/risk management experience preferred
