The QA/QC Technician is responsible for ensuring that B&W components and final assemblies meet the required quality standards and specifications. This role involves inspecting welds, castings, machined parts, and assembled units, as well inspection of B&W products at local suppliers. The QA/QC technician plays a c crucial in ensuring that B&W delivers quality products and services.

  • Ensures B&W quality standards and specifications are being followed by Inspecting incoming raw materials, fabricated parts, weldments, and final assemblies for compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Perform dimensional inspections using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers,).
  • May conduct weld inspections in accordance with AWS or ASME standards.
  • Document non-conformances and assist in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions
  • Maintain calibration records and ensure proper functioning of inspection and testing equipment.
  • Collaborates with Cross-Functional Teams by working closely with B&W's engineering, production, and safety teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
  • Supports B&W certification audits, including those for ISO and ASME standards.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and safety regulations related to quality processes.
  • Maintain detailed inspection records and generate quality reports.
  • Technical knowledge of industrial boilers and related balance of plant equipment.
  • 5+ years’ experience in the areas of Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or Manufacturing
  • Must be able to read and interpret complex drawings.
  • Must be able to read measuring tools. (Exp\: measuring tape, micrometer, calipers and dial indicator)
  • Confident independent decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
  • Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, including welding and fit up.
  • Familiar with ASME, AWS, and ISO codes.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand contract language, contract drawings, and contract specifications.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Able to manage time effectively and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Positive presence and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be able to work in accordance with B&W customer and supplier schedules which may include weekends/after hours.
  • The ability to perform occasional inspections at local suppliers
