PRIMARY ACOUNTABILITIES:

  • Assures the compliance to company, customer, regulatory and consumer quality requirements
  • Directs the Quality Assurance staff in the all departments and provides leadership in managing quality systems for all departments
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the companys policies and applicable laws including: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees;
  • Developing lab techs thru mentoring.
  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Manages the QA/QC department. Responsibilities include the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the department.
  • Leadership skills in managing people and the department.
  • Participates in the SQF program. Oversees facility compliance with customer quality programs. Assists in third party and customer audits.
  • Orients employees on food safety
  • Works closely with USDA inspectors
  • Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities and products.
  • Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.
  • Formulate and maintain quality control objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
  • Writes audits and manages HAACCP and SSOP programs.
  • Creates and implements inspection criteria and procedures
  • Performs checks on the following: Scales, production lines setup, line QCs operation, ingredients, product codes, accuracy of batch sheets and inventory of USDA controlled substances.
  • Provides inspection activity for product throughout production cycle.

Education, Experience, Skills:

  • USDA understanding and working knowledge. Understanding of GFSI/HAACP and SQF .
  • Experience in food manufacturing or related.
  • Education : High School diploma, perhaps some college or technical schools. 2 year minimum in this capacity.
  • Self motivatedwilling to learn, teach and provide a can do will do team attitude to their peers and to others. .
  • The best candidates will have experience in SQF and USDA
  • Strong leadership skills; ability and desire to mentor others.
  • An individual that can set the tone for change, hold people accountable and lead a diverse workforce.
  • Must possess excellent communication, organization and leadership skills. Must have excellent interpersonal skills to be able to collaborate with people at all levels in a matrix organization. Must be self-motivated and have well-developed problem-solving skills. Must demonstrate analytic and project management skills, and have experience using Outlook and Microsoft Office suite.
