Quality Assurance RI Supervisor 2nd Shift

We currently have a QA Supervisor position available on 2nd shift. This individual will ensure that quality policies and procedures are followed, assist in investigations and recommendations for efficiency improvement of daily activities, assist in improvement activities to meet yearly departmental plans, provide subordinates with necessary information to complete job duties and meet yearly plans, and evaluate and develop members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Schedules manpower and vacation requirements.
  • Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers and assists management and/or engineering staff in determining quality and reliability standards.
  • Provides input into the development and improvement of quality testing methods.
  • Recommends modification of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability. Works closely with Manufacturing to prevent supplier defects from entering the manufacturing process.
  • Responsible for quality from suppliers.
  • Complete daily sort/passdown and Quality Alerts/Containments.
  • Documents and investigating supplier defects.
  • Supervises and trains in inspection methods for their group.
  • Conducts member performance evaluations.
  • Perform quality inspections to meet RI schedule.
  • Maintain 3-pillar standards and lab equipment.
  • Manage quality hold area and ensure it meets standards.
  • Lead and organize sorting activities to ensure Manufacturing is protected.
  • Overtime as needed.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external contacts, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical documents.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Understand SPC, Control Charting, and FMEA.
  • Knowledge and usage of performance testing requirements.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft software and data collection packages.
  • Ability to perform occasional lifting and ergonomic movements (i.e. twisting, turning, reaching, bending).
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic gauging equipment.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Supervisory experience is preferred.

Quality/Lab experience is preferred
