Position Summary
The Mortgage Loan Quality Control Specialist reviews all mortgage loans before and after closing to ensure compliance with all federal and state laws, rules, and regulations. Also prepares and tracks loan review exceptions and ensures conformity with company policy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly closed loan reports to be presented to the Board of Directors.
- Receive responses from originators and/or processors on missing documentation to ensure continuation of processing for all loan requests.
- Review loan checklist to verify proper documentation and minimize loan exceptions.
- Maintain a daily log of all loans processed for each originator/processor including date, time sent/received, amount of loan, and status.
- Work with Compliance to ensure that all loan checklists and requirements are up to date.
- Adhere to BSA/AML policy and all other bank policies.
- Audit and maintain adverse action letters (mortgage).
- Ensure all Government Monitoring data is properly collected and reported.
- Review all closed mortgage loans and approvals ensuring conformity with company policy and all federal regulations (RESPA, TIL, HMDA etc.)
- Review all early TRID disclosures before delivery to applicant.
- Respond to quarterly compliance audits in a timely fashion.
- Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
- Loan quality assurance experience required.
- Banking experience preferred.
- 3 years of experience in compliance review.
- Good customer service and communication skills.
- Must be able to exercise discretion and good judgment.
- Must have the ability to multitask and handle multiple assignments.
- Must be self-motivated, dependable, and detail oriented.
- Proficient computer skills; Microsoft and Excel required.
Note: This is a single-incumbent position. Incumbents have responsibility for all the company's mortgage lending operations activities and typically have subordinate operations managers
