Job Requirements
Primary Role: The Project Flow Line will own and manage a process driven workflow (flowline) used to evaluate non-conforming Aero-Engine components for a potential path for acceptance and to do so to contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPI). This high-level process coordination/monitoring role offers opportunities for developing skills, knowledge, and experience in this exciting industry. In this role, the person will work directly with globally based internal and external stakeholders. This role also includes relationship building with specialist areas to understand flow bottlenecks, identify and deliver process improvements, drive LEAN behaviors to enable on-time delivery and increased service value. The position involves mentoring team members, managing work load, and maintaining a high yield with our individual contributors. The Flowline Manager's will provide priorities and assign individual tasks, provide mentoring and growth opportunities for group, perform yearly/quarterly performance reviews, responsible for maintaining adequate staffing levels and employee skillsets.
Gather, compile, process, and portray Quality Engineering (technical) data that helps ensure part/process quality are achieved and sustained. Efforts support/conveyed to others.
Comfortable interacting w/ multiple computer systems / software
Have an aptitude for process-oriented work along with a mindset for doing things right, a desire to see things through, an eye for continuous improvement. A history of doing so successfully in a customer facing, service-oriented, environment
Collaboratively engage daily with your Peers and Management
Assist w/ review of other's work
Maintain Integrity & Ethics in all situations
Generate Continuous Improvement ideas to reduce Cost of Poor Quality
Building customer relations
The role will require you to leverage your engineering and leadership backgrounds to develop QuEST's Team Members from each discipline. Among the detailed responsibilities will be the following:
Build and maintain a motivated team that is prepared to execute on a series of diverse and technically challenging assignments
Promote consistent organizational culture of teamwork, accountability, change championship, and customer focus
Drive compliance to QuEST standards and processes
Communicate the purpose of the organization to new and seasoned engineers, identify talent, and inspire leadership in high potential team members
Create forecasts for workload, headcount, recruiting needs, financial predictions, software and hardware requirements, and infrastructure requirements
Track and report metrics for the team; including customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, productivity improvement, and financial metrics
Make resource assignments balancing the customer needs, team member experience, and opportunities for learning and growth
Work with Technical Leaders to define capability development requirements (including IDP) for the team and implement and track improvement initiatives
Promote team growth by focusing team on high quality execution and effective project management Work with Strategic Account Management and Program Leader on strategies and proposals for expanding work scope
General Responsibilities
Learn, understand, and apply our customer's standard design and repair procedures
Support quotation efforts with accurate estimates of design time required to complete tasks
Track non conformances and identify engineering change recommendations, document the work, and present the findings to our clients and internal stake holders
Assist in identifying opportunities for improvement and take ownership for implementation Manage the projects, assist or create quotations, estimate schedule and budget for tasks, assign project tasks to team members, track metrics
Project management, personnel management, alignment of team members' efforts, set and evaluates annual goals, performance feedback, hire and onboard, and strategic business decision-making
Work Experience
Required Skills (Technical Competency) / Attributes:
Relevant experience in: Quality Management System, Part Qualification (QA), Non-Conformance Management, and/or Continuous Improvement (Development).
Using Flow Line Management Software / Tools
Manage multi-faceted and high-volume processes
Advanced Excel / PowerPoint / Outlook (macros, pivot tables, VB Coding)
Entering, probing, and extracting technical data within a MRP / ERP system (SAP preferred)
Successfully engaging with team and customer in day-to-day work
Self-motivated, disciplined, and organized - with ability to focus on semi-repetitive tasks
Required Skills and Experience
Knowledge of gas turbine engine workings, design, manufacturing, and MRO
Read Engineering prints and comprehend associated Quality Requirements
Gaging experience (manual, visual, computer based, Inspection Planning, SPC, Gage R&R, etc)
Operating in procedure based and regulatory controlled environments
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
Office and/or Shop Floor Environments
Lift / Transport 25 lb (if/when working on-site)
Common activities include sitting, walking, and standing
Typically includes substantial amounts of computer work - but can also include hands-on activities (e.g. lifting, inspecting, transporting, etc)
Heavily Regulated Industry with strict adherence to procedures and standard work
Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late, arriving early, OT
Ability to use personal transportation (work, customer, other)
Full-Time salary role (40hr/wk) w/ company benefits and paid OT.
Shift: 1st M-F. Unpaid Lunch.
