Business Systems Analyst
The City of Columbus, Ohio, is looking for a Business Systems Analyst to support the citys human capital management system (Dayforce). The Auditors Office currently manages the enterprise-wide Dayforce system for approximately 10,500 employees. Dayforce is the system of record for these functional areas: Benefits Administration, Reporting & Analytics, Employee Self Service, Onboarding, Payroll, Personnel, Scheduling, Time & Attendance, and Workforce Management.
The Business Systems Analyst will become a Dayforce specialist, serve as a subject matter expert for the Dayforce Solution Manager, and provide functional support for end users of Dayforce. This position is currently offering hybrid remote options with some regular in-person workdays required weekly.
Primary Responsibilities:

Support
- Provide support in addressing Help Desk tickets related to Dayforce issues.
- Manage security requests for maintaining Dayforce users.
- Provide support services to Dayforce end users as needed via email/phone support and Webex.
- Understand, research, and resolve daily ad hoc operational questions for Dayforce users.
- Provide support and advice to non-technical users.
Training/Documentation
- Development and maintenance of training materials.
- Provide end-user training and end-user support as needed.
- Participate in creation of training videos for Citys Dayforce User Community to provide updates and clarification to common user issues, etc.
- Participate in Dayforce user group meetings, meeting preparation, and presentations.
- Provide references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation.
- Create and develop other documentation as needed.
Analysis/Testing
- Research and analyze aspects of existing business practices and procedures.
- Become an expert on internal system functionality to facilitate and implement forward-thinking solutions, efficiencies, and improvements.
- Collaborate, understand, communicate, interpret, and document business processes and requirements as needed.
- Participate in the development and execution of comprehensive test plans prior to product releases.
- Partakes in the execution of functional testing prior to Dayforce releases.
- Develop Ad-Hoc reports, Dashboards, and KPI measures for consumption by internal users and City management.
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
Desired Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration or a related field. Equivalent work experience documenting knowledge of business system analysis and implementation may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis
- Experience with HRIS/HCM systems for Time & Attendance, Scheduling, HR personnel management, position management, and/or payroll. Specific Dayforce experience or City process knowledge of bargaining unit and union agreements is helpful but not mandatory.
- Microsoft Excel intermediate skill level or above; experience with advanced formulas, power query, and pivot tables.
- Training and/or experience with visualization software such as Power BI or Tableau for analytical presentation of data is desirable. City will provide training for unique Dayforce functionality related to these features.
- Ability to work as a team player and effectively meet deliverable timeframes. Willing to align work with the teams priorities and goals.
- Develop and maintain positive, collaborative working relationships with other team members within the department and throughout the organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills and keen attention to detail are extremely important.
- Must be able to make presentations at meetings and train system users at all levels within the organization.
- Must be organized with the ability to multi-task and set priorities.
- Ability to influence, negotiate, and build consensus as a change management champion is essential.
- Experience in project management, including planning, execution, monitoring, and control of projects.
- Change management experience.

Under general direction, is responsible for serving as an accounting/auditing/payroll/finance specialist within the City Auditors Office; performs related duties as required.

Serves as a subject matter specialist within the Auditors Office in such areas as accounting, finance, payroll, debt management, and financial information systems;
Oversees and reconciles cash activities with the City Treasurer on a daily basis;
Assists management in the development and documentation of policies and the implementation of new procedures;
Prepares complex financial and statistical accounting reports and budgets for the City of Columbus;
Coordinates specialized payroll functions and audits payroll records;
Coordinates with Citywide grant reporting and compliance;
Coordinates with the Citys debt management;
Assists in the preparation of the Citys audit and financial reports;
Processes legislation for the Auditors Office;
Manages technology and/or carries out functions required of the financial information systems;
Conducts or assists in conducting special projects initiated by or coordinated through the City Auditors Office.
