Senior Customer Quality Engineer (Project Quality) (Salary Range: $125,000/yr - $147,000/yr): Support Quality Management System (QMS) training, deployment, and maintenance (ISO/IATF 16949) teams and ensure project quality. Lead customer quality in new program launches for assigned customer. Serve as primary liaison between Luminar, Contract Manufacturers (CM), and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Collaborate in transforming automotive safety and autonomy by delivering only LiDAR and associated software that meets the industrys stringent performance, safety, and requirements. Confer as necessary with stakeholders regarding industrial production processes. Drive the operations quality and resident engineers to meet day-to-day customer deliverables. Audit the quality of our manufacturing processes and evaluate integrated systems for managing industrial production processes. Establish the testing process with feedback from Luminars engineering teams and design control systems to coordinate activities and production planning to ensure that products meet quality standards by applying PFMEA methods. Test sensors during the builds development processes and participating in customer workshops. Monitor communication between customer quality and production issues. Support critical manufacturing process improvement and problem-solving efforts. Lead customer Run at Rate activities at CM. Ensure all items in PPAP are addressed. Lead quality technicians at contract manufacturers in containment, critical issues management, 8Ds for 0Km and field customer complaints. Lead cross functional meetings on customer change management and ensure all customer specific requirements are followed through every improvement.

Travel 30% (domestic, Mexico, China).

REQUIREMENTS: Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field. 2 years of experience as an Industrial Engineer, Quality Engineer, or a related occupation.

SKILLS: Must have:
1. Experience with electronics assembly and electronics testing at an automotive OEM.
2. Experience with design and manufacturing tools, including ARENA Simulation, AutoCAD, and CATIA.
3. Experience auditing manufacturing processes and using Layered Process Audit (LPA) quality management system.
4. Experience utilizing problem-solving methods, including at least two of the following: Shainin, 8D, or A3.
5. Experience applying Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA) and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) methods to production planning to ensure products meet quality standards.
6. Experience developing quality management systems complying with ISO and IATF 16949 standards.
